watching movies I miss cause I wasn't old enough to watch movies or was not born.

Was this a Indiana Jones script first?

Police helicopter movie with the Jaws cop.

https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Thunder-Roy-Scheider/dp/B08JJ3X1Q4/

Full Metal Jacket and 2001 Kubrick directed this movie very strange and disgusting movie. After I finish watching it, I look WIKI and it's X rated. Wish I knew before I wasted my time watching it.

Bruce Willis is only good for Die Hard. I didn't understand this.

You old timers were talking about this 3 films here https://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4588482/1 so I went looking.

https://www.amazon.com/Logans-Run-Michael-York/dp/B006RJTEIC/ Farrah Fawcett was beautiful.

Sadly this may become reality

and this too https://www.amazon.com/Rollerball-James-Caan/dp/B0097HINAQ/

Because of Logan's Run, I also went looking for Jenny Agutter and found other movies with her.

It got an X rating at the time of release which was 1971. By today's standards it barely qualifies as an "R" rated movie.

For some reason The Good, The Bad & The Ugly got an X rating in the UK. Nowadays it's practically a kid friendly movie :/

Most egregious line in the movie:
"What's this, one #%&*$# walks in, another #%&*$# walks out?"
*Edit - #%&*$# = "bar steward" :/

No sex or sexual reference.

Lots of shooting, no gore or splatter.

The movie "12 Monkeys" is pretty good. The television show... is fantastic.

I admit that when I first watched "12 Monkeys" in the movie theater I really didn't get what was going on. It was only later with subsequent viewings that I understood the story.

Albert Finney as Hercule Poirot in "Murder on the Orient Express" (1974). Our second "Murder on the Orient Express" (the first was made in 2010) -- one more to go.

Set in 1935. Basically the same story as the first version we viewed (noted above). But, with a couple notable differences. I assume this one was closer to the Agatha Christie original story. The 2010 version we watched (noted above) may have been slightly better. But, each had its pluses and minuses. In this version, Poirot was also a "deformed overweight person" -- perhaps deformed too much to be real (lacking a "back story" to explain it).

Interestingly, the "set" for this movie was the "actual Orient Express" luxury train which was still functional in 1974. Also interesting to me (who does not pay attention to who is acting), I recognized the names of several of the actors.

The irony of this is that much of the filming location was a newly-built 'utopia' for housing residents of run-down areas of London, set-dressed to look soulless and depressing, deprived, dilapidated and dystopian for the footage. The reality of the estate quickly descended into the fantasy of the film. Much of this, one of Britain's many urban disasters of the 1960's has now been demolished and rebuilt in a more sensitive manner,

Clockwork Orange is a classic. So many great stars in it.

If I were you NFB I'd stick to watching movies suited to your age group (PG-13).

Looked interesting. I started the "buy" process. However, I quickly found that the "trick" is to get the correct DVD version (as usual) -- some good, some bad versions (as far as DVD reproduction concerned). I can't sort through it today.

Another (also from the Smiley series of novels) which I really enjoy and have read, watched, listened to the radio play more times than I can count is "The Spy Who Came In From The Cold". The main antagonist - Hans Dieter Mundt was a spy of the Abteilung who while in London embedded within the East German Steel Mission - and had nearly succeeded in murdering Smiley in the first novel "A Call For The Dead".

Ordered the TTSS disks. The "original" full-version was stocked and shipped by Amazon -- often, that means a good item. We'll see.

That's fine that you didn't care for Clockwork Orange when you watched it NFB. There are a few classic films that didn't do much for me when I watched them so I see where you are coming from.

My main point was to bring up the fact that all movie ratings like "X", "R", "PG", etc. are all highly subjective and change with the times.
