Battlefield Earth. Never seen it. It's best to keep it that way I would bet my entire net worth that Forest Whittaker who is an excellent actor by the way, somewhat regrets being in that film.

Battlefield Earth ...... a real stinker.
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

Recently got a BluRay version of The Hunt for Red October, so I rewatched that over the weekend. It's just a great movie.
HFRO is one of those films that I have watched at least 25 times and will watch many more times before I die and will never get tired of it. It's not only a Cold War classic film but a classic of the entire war/action genre. The other Clancy films are decent but they are nowhere near in the same category IMHO.

Sum of all Fears. Another great one from Clancy. Off Amazon Prime. I had two major problems with that one: 1. Changing the antagonists from Muslim extremists to Neo-Nazis. 2. Ben Affleck.

I saw two movies this weekend:
1) "The Hunt" - I admit at first I was hesitant to see this film, what with all the controversy and bad reviews, however, I am glad I watched. What an enjoyable film! Excellent horror comedy and perfect stereotyping, this film delivered. 3.25 stars out of 4.
2) "We're the Millers" - This comedy started out strong with lots of laughs, but slightly fell into the comedy trap in the latter half and dropped a little in quality. Not bad, but not great enough to watch over and over, either. 2.5 stars out of 4.

Ben Affleck. +1 Also, regressing the Jack Ryan character to a a rookie for no good reason (other than Ben Affleck, I guess. See above).

I can't bring myself to watch Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime. I just see Jim Halpert. I thought the same at first. But "13 Hours" changed my mind. He's a very good actor.

The book was better. It was just a rip off of Black Sunday. It's been a long time since I've read either of them, but I remember the Clancy version being a bit better.

Watching https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000q1km/flint about this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flint_water_crisisNo one responsible including the Governor of Michigan and State, County City, and water department officials receive any prison time. Over 15 of them were accused and only 1 was convicted: she got 1 year probation, 300 hours of community service and $1200 fine. Should round them up, strap them down and waterboard them with the same filthy toxic lead poisonous water that they forced upon the 100,000 residents of Flint including nearly 12,000 children who became ill, were born with defects, and 6 years later many are still experiencing health problems.
