I can't race. My wheel keep sliding back ...my patience has a limit so i put the wheel down for some year.

I take it from your post that you sit in an office chair and when you press on the brake the chair (and you) slide back.

Most simple solution I can think of is to get a piece of plywood or MDF slightly bigger than the chair base. Sit the chair on it and mark where all the wheels are. Build up pieces of wood around the wheels to stop them moving. For added grip to the floor you could stick a piece of rubber to the underside of the sheet of wood.

Hope this helps,

Andy

Quite simple...go to a hardware store that sells rubber floor mats and get one then cut some blocks out and use it like chocks for aircraft. Or get some carpet and do the same thing. You can find the rubber squares at most hardware stores pretty easily.

Slightly easier would be to use the (5?) rectangles drawn around the wheels, to cut holes for the wheels to drop into. 1/4" thick MDF/ply should give good results, but deeper works better of course.

If one would want fast "locking", you could add wheel guidance on top.

I'm assuming that you have hardwood floors? And that your office chair sits on that and rolls easily?

Go to Walmart, purchase a not to obnoxious bath mat (one of the large square ones) and place that under the wheels of your office chair. That should do the trick, cost less than $10 and no longer than it takes you to find one acceptable at your local Walmart. You could even test it by grabbing one of the bath mats from your current bathroom to see if that would work before investing in the trip to Walmart.

I fly and race from an office chair. I have that chair on carpet and experience no issue with a rolling chair. The carpet offers enough friction to keep the chair from rolling. I expect the bath mat would serve the same purpose.

Just my thoughts.

Better yet, swap out the regular casters for locking casters:

Maybe combine with a rug with thick carpet insulation underneath. My area is carpeted and my chair does fine without moving back, even without swapping casters.

That's half of the solution, How do you prevent the chair from twisting?

what I did was to buy a two pack of door stoppers. These are little rubber wedges that I fit under the wheels when I am set up. Total cost $1.50. When I'm done, I just pick them up and put them on the desk.

Hi, I found some brake wheels that won't move (they lock) when you sit down. They go back to rolling when you stand up. I found them here: https://shop.stelairproducts.com/products/stelair-compression-sit-brake-casters-3f-ab2
They fit my chair just fine so I guess they are a standard size.
