Yep. Although I think they're embellishing the motion, you can do this with modern engines. The automation on the engine will keep it from suffering compressor stalls etc and it will smoothly bring the RPM up (A jet engine will always lag your input, but it will react properly faster with automated controls, IIRC)

The thing with the motors, or at least the old PW100's, is that you could really do some harm to them if you slammed it like that. your chances of AB burnouts or no lights was possible. The 220's don't really have that issue.

Its that video that makes me miss working on them. I'm going over there in a month to work on their trainers, but it doesn't quite compare to being on the flightline. Its funny to listen to the radio calls from AWACS. Working in a mission training center for so long, I learned the lingo, its really quite impressive the amount of info they need to process and at such rapid paces.

Now I'm feeling nostalgia for Kadena, can't wait to go back, but I wasn't with the 67th, I was with the 12th before the migrated up to Alaska.

OVER....Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

I understand the F-14A with the P&W engines had hard times with that too.

Awesome - Thanks for posting that.

And man, those clouds! I forget sometimes there's still plenty of room for improvement in sims, but there sure is.

Amazing video but someone seemed to have gone out of their way to find the worst music on the planet as a soundtrack. Each new track had my girlfriend and I wincing in greater and greater abject horror.

My kingdom for a version of the video with no music.
