Looks like it's getting better with every patch. I've been looking at this for a while but just can't justify getting Crysis Wars.

What's the joystick support like? Cause that's the biggest selling point for me nowadays.

What MP game types are there? I can't stand plain TDM, I like to have an attack/defend style with objectives to take out, preferably no respawns.

Warhead used goes for about $5. MWLL is a tech-strategy-combinded-arms simulation tuner and well worth it. It has been very playable for a long time now. Even when it came out it was well playable. I've never even bothered playing crysis.

Terrain Control is quite popular. Teams get points for capturing and keeping control points. Control points may contain: defensive laser turrents, repair bays, sometimes hangars for spawning mechs/vehicles.
There is also Solaris Arena, Team Solaris Arena, Test of Strength, ..
Also I think there are alot of planned matches between groups where you have only one life. They are usually private so you would have to join a clan.

I use mouse and kb, so I have no personal experience.
There are some pre-made configs for joysticks. (see bottom of the page):

At the launcher you can configure actionmaps in detail:

It'll be interesting to see how the new Mechwarrior free to play MMO stacks up.

My issue is not with the game but with extra included software. That is as far as I will take it since this is not the sub-forum for that discussion.

Are the maps larger now? I played when it first came out and didn't like how small the maps were, like an arena. I wish someone would make a MW game in a massive sandbox world like Skyrim. Get in and out of Mechs etc.

Team Solaris Arena (TSA) and Terrain Control (TC) maps come in different sizes.
2km by 2km, 4km by 4km, or 8km by 8km. (4km = 2.5miles)

Getting in and out of mechs is possible.
