I've played through Fallout 1 last year again and enjoyed every moment. If you're even slightly interested in classic RPGs, go get it!

Yes. Just the first one. I can only imagine what it would be for their servers if it was all the sequels as well.

It is a classic, and with the same bunch rallying to work on Wasteland 2, it is a good time to replay the old Fallouts, or experience them for the first time if you missed out back in the day.

Ok did it now I need some advice please. The game is in a very small window and I could find no options menu to change rez. I also could find no config to edit the rez. Any ideas?

Probably can't as it's a 1997 game.

There are some hi-res mods for both Fallout 1 & 2. Here's a link to one for Fallout. http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout1_Resolution_Patch

You got to experiment a bit with what resolution works best for your screen. With my 23" 16:9 screen I got the best results when running the game @ 1280x720 in full-screen mode. Game looks very nice and the text is not too small. BTW here's a direct link to the high-res patch: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1273

I gave up on it. I tried the rez mod but no matter what I set my desktop rez at the top of the opening game screen was cut off so I could not see Options or whatever link to the game settings.

You leave your desktop resolution alone. You change the in-game res settings.
