Free weekend of play. Bank robbery simulator, MP thing. http://store.steampowered.com/app/24240/My mini review: - I hate it. It's stupid. Note: You may like it, and that's fine. I have PM's on all of you, so just remember that first before not agreeing with me.

I like it and I bought it when it came out. It's like playing Heat.
Say you like it or I'm leaving!

AFAIK, Mace has not shown any proof he actually LIVES in Darlington. Poser. On a more serious note though... I am bothered by all this "you can play a bad guy" games. Heist, GTA, Bully, etc. I am already bad enough in real life so I don't need my games to be so. "Saving the world" games however, now that's another story!

This game could have been so much more interesting if it wasn't just a mindless shooter. The theme is unique (which is miraculous in a genre where every other game is a C.C of the previous) but sadly it's just a waste of a good theme. You may aswell be shooting zombies or werewolves. There are so many concepts and possibilities with a strong theme like this and sadly none of them have been explored. "Press F to start the heist!" What if I want to look around a bit first, take out a few of the guards quietly, or take the bank manager off for a quiet chat? Sorry, just press F.
A couple of the levels are really nicely designed and the environments impressive (the bank and the 22nd floor diamond heist levels) but others are ridiculous (some kind of crack house w/ a safe room...A meat factory???).
Some Hitman codename 47 style sneaking would have worked well and offered the possibility of recon missions prior to making the heist. The handling of civilians seems to be weird. You can cuff them, but you only have 2 sets of cuffs (cable ties) and you're some how penalized if the police take them away? If you shoot a civilian you get a 10 second penalty? Yeah ... whatever!
You can't pick up weapons, which is odd in a game where the objective is to kill hoards of enemies. You can more or less just run around getting shot to bits, hide in a quiet spot, recover, run around a bit more, rinse, repeat.
I suppose a bit of role playing online, strict ROE/house rules and it could be made into something greater than the sum of it's parts. Unfortunately SP is just mindless.
After completing it I just wanted to play SWAT 4 again.
Cheers
