All three please smile

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

It might not rank among the world's most beautiful aircraft but it's certainly the ugliest.

I don't have a new one right now, so maybe someone else can provide a new riddle.

Here's our baby, with me walking away from it after having hand-cranked the prop, as the battery was flat smile

Yep, I love the paint job. It's the same paint job that was used at the Little Norway pilot training facility in Toronto during WWII. The planes is named "Spirit of Little Norway" in yellow letters on the left side of the cowling, and it is simply beautiful to watch, listen to, and fly! It is our little tribute to the brave Norwegian pilots who fought in WWII.

It's actually grounded at the moment. Not just due to cold weather, but on its last landing last year the brackets that connect to the rudder control rods broke due to tail wheel shimmy, so we need a new rudder. We have one on its way from Texas as we speak. We need a new tail wheel assembly as well, as the one we have is worn, thus the shimmy. And Cornell parts aren't exactly off-the-shelf any more.. smile

Speaking of Norwegian pilots: I was reading about Per Bergsland recently. He ended up in Stalag III and with fellow Norwegian Jens Muller, they and a Dutch escapee were the only three out of 76 to reach a neutral country after the The Great Escape.

Hitler ordered the execution of 73 recaptured POWs but Himmler, somewhat out of character, used enough influence on Hitler to spare 23.
