That is becouse the ultimate like obviously shaped their nick fury after samuel jackson, and it got for a time (problably for being new and fresh) more popular response then marvel iconic nick fury, and since marvel is big on diversity casting a icon for fury was a win win.
Honestly i never liked fury face, he looked like mr fantastic brother :P . Yup. Thats a, what, self fulfilling prophecy? When Marvel launched the ultimate line 12ish years ago, the artist re-imagined Nick Fury as Sam Jackson. 6 years later they use Sam as Nick.

What applies to me and who's Windu? You need to brush up on your Star Wars knowledge!

Remember when they made the movie "Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD"? And Nick was none other than the Hoff.
You don't? So, you repressed that memory too?

No the Nick Fury movie was just that, nick Fury movie., The older Punisher movie you were referring to didn't even have nick Fury, but rather a grizzled Lou Gosset Jr playing some mentor of sorts to Dolph Lundgren, I don't recall exactly. BTW, new Avengers trailer in several different country versions: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/marvel/avengers/v6, boNes

Where is Emma Peel ? Are there two completely different series / films called "The Avengers"? LOL Yes. You're thinking of the classic 1960's UK tv series. Of course in the 1990's there was that "Avengers" film with Uma Thurman and Sean Connery but it blew major chunks.
