I just got it -not impressed with the overly complex patching process for the DVD version at least. Incremental patches?? Really?? Two separate downloads for each? I got at least 5GBs downloading right now of the BINs. It's a little ridiculous. Honestly, I'm surprised I bought this. DCS/Eagle has been pissing me off lately. This patching process definitely isn't helping their case with me either.

You're welcome to your opinion, Silver, but the majority of the readers here have no problem with the software or the patch process.

Well, I patched it to 1.09(?). It locks up the computer at the end of every mission so far. I concede, it may be my system, and I admit, after simming for the past 15 years, i really don't have the patience for bug hunts anymore. Starting some of the instant action missions instantly lock up the system. I'll try it again tommorow after I update it to 1.111 Incidently, when I ran 1.09, it prompted my to reactivate, a such it used one of my activations, so I have 9 left. I don't think that's right.

Honestly though, I think I am just plain fed up with PC gaming, after so many years. Starting in November 2011, my hard drive with all my music (160GBs!) gave out. It wasn't a disaster -the old girl gave me one last day to backup up my music! Two weeks later, one of my 295s gave up the ghost. OK replaced that. After the reinstall of W7, one of my drives, with not alot of important stuff, but SOME, important stuff, was inexplictedly wiped clean. Despite the fact it had been unplugged for the W7 install. Then W7 wouldn't recognize my sound card. That took over two weeks to fix -I was just shy of buying a new one. THEN I found my Thrustmaster RCS wasn't working, so I was lucky enough to find a lightly used RCS Elite (actually a nice upgrade over my old ones), on eBay. I tell ya, I am thoroughly fed up! I think if I have to install, reinstall, or bug hunt one more thing, I may part the fkr out on eBay. And I'm serious, actually. These days, time is short for me. When I have time where I want to enjoy gaming, I don't want to spend what little I have fixing one problem, or another. I used to, if not "enjoy" the tinkering, I at least didn't mind it as much. Now, sheesh!

Why not just sell us a key code in gaming stores ? When not only do you not need the disc, but it's a damn sight easier to download the full game to the latest version. Thats if you can't pay for it online that is. I guess for those that don't have internet access.

The box copy was just for those who insist on having a physical item to own. You can always do the incremental patch, but I'd rather take the "clean" route and do a full install. Looking forward to the performance report (and some screens please!) of this sim on your system!
Oh, and let me just repeat -- download the FULL INSTALL and install the game in a totally separate folder. That way you are sure you have a clean install of the game.
Force10, you can download the game via .torrent files, that way you can only turn on the torrent program a few hours each day while you are surfing the net or doing other things. You'll have the full install in just a few days.

Steam. It does it all for you.
OK you have to wait a while for the patches but your copy is always, Steam, up to date.
