I have COD Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 on my Steam Account. ( Retail dvd box )I would like to sell, but don't know how !! I would be willing to give up my Steam Account to do it.
COD-Black Ops- $ 15 MWF 3- $20
Both for $ $35(I pay shipping)
PM if interested and you know how we could do it. I usually ask for Money order up front and provide tracking number for mailing.

Well, that really sucks !! I guess that means one can NEVER sell a Steam game to another person ? That seems a "tad askew" and puts an end to a great tradition of moving games around on this great forum (at least Steam games).
No way around this guys ? The e-mail pat does not nother me that much, but having the "Steam Police Nazi's" on my tail would not be a good thing.

I think you can only gift/swap unused keys. Of course, if you accept money for the gift, no one needs to be the wiser.

Since noone has expresed any interest in these two best seller FPS games, I guess it's just a mute point. Anyone ou there want to "make this happen" >

Steam sucks in this regard. I think in order to sell them you must pay Steam like $10 per game to transfer the license key. F that.

i think both games are a good deal for what I am asking. We will see. You may have a bit of an uphill effort selling those, most people who already have games on Steam aren't going to want to log out of their normal steam account to log into this steam account to play those two games under your gamer tag. Yes the inability to resell Steam games has been a pretty well discussed frustration of classic gamers ever since the initial Steam game Half-Life 2 came out in 2005.

Wait one second here ! I purchased both these games at Best Buy, NOT from Steam. They loaded to Steam when I put in the DVD, so how does Steam get exclusive rights to the games forever ? The more I think about this , the nore get POd I get. I have finished these games and now I am stuck ??? There MUST be a way around this. What if I send the game disk to the buyer with my Steam account # and password? Why would that not work ? How would Steam know it was not me just playing the game ?
Just tell me I am kaput on this and I will give up, but I just know some smart guy has figured out how to do this.

I've not played these games, but from what I understand, you did, and you registered the games' CD keys on your Steam account, yes? So now, those copies of the games are "tied" to your Steam account.
If I were to buy those games and put in the CD key, it will not work, and Steam is like the 3rd-party that checks the keys. For you to properly sell the games, you would need to "sell" your Steam account, email associated with the Steam account, and passwords for both. Now unless these two are the only games you have registered on your Steam account, I would not advise you to do so, as then, they would have access to these other games as well. Plus, once Steam detects install or even just access from a different computer, they will send out an alert and require confirmation from the registered email address, hence the need to "sell" your email account as well.
I know the last bit because I wanted to "log in" to Steam via my iPad, and Steam had sent a confirmation email to my email address.

Not to be negative, but " the hell with it". ! To much BS ! Thanks to all for your input. I have migrated to the Xbox 360 and a 55" beautiful HDTV. PC gaming has become a pain the past couple years. I just use my gaming pc for my flight sim collection now.

That being said, pick up the games when they are $5 on sale. I'll never buy a game from a store like Best Buy again. When you get the games so cheap in the first place (Steam, Amazon downloads) you'll save more money overall than buying/selling a DVD copy. That, and not many are interested in buying used copies anymore. Not when you can get best selling games like Mass Effect 2 for $5 on Steam under a year after it was released. :p

More and more companies are including online pass ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_pass ) for console games too, you may sell your game, but if you've used one-time online pass code, another guy won't be able to use multiplayer or other content, he will have to buy his own online pass.

Selling Used Games cuts the Publisher out of the Money Loop.... So they use Steam to Manage and Lock the DRM to single accounts and PCs.
