The game is really cheap in the bargain bin, especially compared to what you paid for your computer, if you have a comp that is anywhere near running it. Fedtsyl... wink

Belgium but not in Flanders
You need a very big pc to play it and then love this type of game to buy it, it is the best of its genre.. it is unique.
I love it but I always loved it even in the beginning when it was ful of bugs now it is better, not perfect but better.

Tag et kig på mine videoer zerozub: www.flightsimvids.com

- Stadig nogle bugs men meget meget bedre end Il-2 Classic. Dog tager det et stykke tid får man lærer at styre motoren.

holy crap yeah! - Just look at the cockpits, they're sumptuous. The effects are realistic, if nothing else. You don't get huge fireballs every time you shoot at a plane, but it is that much more rewarding when you do create some good damage. There are like 200 different damage types that can all appear independently and also interact...

The original IL-2 is the demo. COD has had a few patches that have improved, the sound, and performance, but there are still issues like the launcher exe, and CTD's. Personally I don't have CTD's or launcher problems as I have a decent highly optimized system for COD. Hopefully the next series of patches will see some serious code optimizations. The new series doesn't need your support later, but it certainly needs it now.

Wishing I was in the La Cloche
If they had released a demo, nobody would have bought it in the state it was released. Well, OK maybe the extreme supporters would have... Just stating the brutal truth. duck

I heard things were much better after fall patch so I took a chance and picked it up on sale. I wasn't expecting a lot from my 6 year old quad workstation (specs below), but it handles it OK and I can enjoy the less demanding missions at mostly mid settings with a few on high, some turned off. It is stunning when running well, and I understand why people whole-heartedly defend this sim.

Perhaps stating the obvious here, but better multi-threading makes this possible. To compare, RoF runs very well on my aging system, but their optimization is much better than CoD at the moment. With time and resources, and a forthright approach with customers, CoD can recover from the shaky start and hopefully win over the crowd it deserves.
