I have just reinstalled my old fav EAW. Now I will not go into detail of all the flight sims WW1 and WW2 I have and played over the years and I have all the latest sims on my expensive PC Windows 7 64Bit (im not boasting just making a point) but after setting up a campaign in EAW 128e and flying my first mission it just blew me away what a great sim it still is.
So to all involved and Mr Jelly you have just made an old man very happy thanks.
So from time to time when im not flying COD, ROF, FSX, (Yes im retired and have all the time in the world HA HA) it will be EAW for me.
One last thing it works perfect on my PC.
Thanks again.
Forgot to say that im using the Directx V1.88 Windower and works well.

Simple, Always kept checking back to see if there was a fix for the nvidia card problem. I always loved this sim. Since i got a new puter, i loaded er up and pesto it works. Now i wonder if the 'windower' program will work on my old rig with the nvidia card..... Gonna have to give that a go too. Good to be back. Now a question or two. What is the deal with the convergence. I assume the 'Z' is for distance in front and is in yards, but what about the 'Y'? Is it to combat bullet drop? if that is the case what is the measurement. And second, why the hell did my boys open up on me after landing at my home runway after my first mission it DAW? I joined the 41st at Benghazi and they AAA me on the runway after a successfull mission and landing ..... Ended that career awful quick

Cass, lol! If you have the 1.28e DAW, some of the bases might not be correct. I get some ctd's from certain bases....and some have some ground objects right in the runway......long story about the difference between the 1.28e and the original stand-alone....suffice to say it will eventually get worked on. So far, I have not had any problems flying career as German.... The convergence is, (I think!) Z for convergence distance in front of you, and Y for height. (Tracers should cross the center of your gunsight.) There is also a new calculated gunsight, on the planes that had them. (Check out some of the entries in your eaw.ini file.) If you zoom your cockpit view x1, you will see it. Try the 51D or the 190D. Yo, you still got your plane? AO

Wow nice pick of my plane, and no i dont have it :(, That was made by....oh man common i can remember his name.. Oh yeah John Mcgarvey or Jack Sprat! I sure would love a copy of that skin if you know where i can get it..... Im not familiar with the new planes and campaign systems. I was a wizard with OAW . Now where can i look for instructions on how to use and abuse the file system, and how can i fly my own pony Col? Thx for the pick AO! Great memories there.... Dan

Y adjust how much the guns shift inward, Z adjust the up/down setting. All planes got a basic convergence setting. At the config screen you can adjust this for all planes at once, so there is no real measurement. Greetings, Knegel
If you think `thats close enough´, go closer, until the plane fill up the windscreen, then a short burst is enough!

Dumoulin. Thanks for the skin! now how do i go about setting it up? Are there any tutorials on how to use the new files system? Knegel, thanks for the explanation, i assumed the z and y axis the other way round . Flew a couple of missions last night, funny i much prefer EAW to IL2 even if i cant use wide screen th2g. Its soooo, nastalgic. I still have a bunch of my old add ons and would love to change the music in the bunk house etc, but im not sure how all this works, so can someone point me in the right direction, i dont mind reading. Cass

Thanks for the welcome, Skylark if I could tell you why myself and others return to EAW with so many good looking sims out there WHY would any one want a 1998 flight sim if I could answer that I would make a lot of money.
When one looks back at what sims were out then only one other springs to mind that has stood the test of time for me and that's Janes WW2 Fighters and I have the boxed version and it still runs on W7 64BIT O/S.
For me EAW loads quick has nice content flys well looks good in a sort of oldie way, I like the voice overs screens Ho so mutch I like of it, it's just like an old friend for me. Any way when one gets to my age you seem to look back a lot more.
If I could have just one wish it would be better cockpit graphics.
EAW long may it live.

Hi, we already can have way better cockpits, but we miss the skilled people with enough time to create them. Greetings, Knegel
