So am I understanding this right? That once I create an operation that I need to edit the config files manually to add the units I want to use BEFORE I convert the files and open the operation in the graphical Operations editor?

Andrey you guys at graviteam seem to be going at crazy pace of releases, fixes, betas, etc etc. I honestly am suprised at how fast you guys are getting stuff out considering how few of you there are.

Once before loading to an editor (It will be offered immediately by dialog).
An than after changes:

But do not forget to save an operation before conversion.

Small fix for Operation editor menu

http://files.mail.ru/97CXSA

1) Unpack
2) Copy to same folder in game with replacement

Until the next patch.

OK so once an operation has been converted you cant add units to it or manually edit the config files?

Well you could, but it could require you to do some cut and paste in the cfg files. Everything you need to convert files back and forth is in the mod tools. Also I would suggest to start with using unflat on one of the included camps. and get its div_pool file to just mess around with.

The way I look at creating a missions is just preplan the operation you want to do. for instance a russian tank company has 3 platoons of 3 tanks plus 1 hq tank. How would an army use this force and against what?

Convert text files (intended for human editing) to binary files understandable to the editor which are located in the SRC folder: text and description of troops

You need to create 4 platoons and set to it same AI id.
For example if they enemies - EN1, for allies AL1 and than setup AI orders like viewed in manual (page 15)

Quick question about creating operations for this FANTASTIC game:

To edit the config files before going into the editor, NOTEPAD will be OK?

Does anyone have this file that they could upload to me? I deleted it off the old hard drive and march beta2 over wrote it. Help me a ton. The link is dead as a post.

Hi FB,
Looks like all documentation landed at Graviteams other site

http://www.graviteam.ua/help/documentation.html

I would hope that since this site was made after the small update that the operations editor manual was update also.
cheers

Thanks for that but alas it is not the DOCs I am after. Its a small editor upgrade that appears to never have made it into English versions of either APOS or SABOW. Its what allows you to set up progressive map in editor. I informed Andey so hopefully makes the next patches. Just trying to get ahead of the game as it where. I love to release stuff right after patches when I know everything will work together. biggrin
