I just got a Windows 7 PC (64-bit) and read that some of you have had luck getting Mig Alley working on it. So, I pulled out my CD and installed it. It runs fine but it will not respond to any joystick movements while in flight. The Controls menu shows it as active with everything mapped correctly but it doesn't do anything while in flight. The keyboard works but if I can't use the joystick, it will get uninstalled.

Is there a special tweak that I need to do to make the joystick work? I have a Logitech Force 3D Pro joystick. All drivers are up to date and I have Mig Alley patched with the 1.23 version.

Thanks

You need to install the BDG patch as well to be up to par on patches. Check out the sticky thread.

[Edit]
Hmmm, the sticky thread is gone as well as all posts older than Sept and the Mig Alley archive. Such an injustice.
IM me and I'll send you the 0.85 patch file that you need.

I think mine worked just fine after the install. Make sure that your joystick is set to be used in older games as the default control device under the control panel in W7.

Thanks Jenrick. Also it looks like the older posts are there. The sticky ones just are no longer sticky...

Austell, GA.
Naturalpoint has also kept the links for both the 123 patch and BDG patch. Just click on the high lighted areas and download.

Thanks for the link. I copied the mig.exe file into my mig install directory but I don't know what to do with the mig.pdb file. When I run Mig Alley now, it uses the joystick but the axis seem to be wrong. Pulling back makes it go right, forward goes left, etc. The buttons on the joystick work correctly, though. Am I missing something?

Put the pdb file in the same directory as the mig.exe.

I put the pdb file in the mig directory but the joystick is still basically unusable. The plane goes into an uncontrollable spin and noses into the ground every time. I have the joystick set to work with older programs and it does work with all of the other older and newer programs that I have; just not with Mig Alley.

What is the pdb file used for?

It's basically a programming linker/debugger file. In Mig, can you click on preferences, controls and post a screen shot of your
configuration settings? Also, have you calibrated from within the program?

I just looked at the contents of the rar at the natural point site. It is missing key files like the keyboard manager program that retro created. That wouldn't be installed with the 123 patch. Unistall mig and then follow the instructions in the file Im sending you. I will inbox you the installer and instruction manual.

But, before you uninstall, please answer the following. After you post the answers go ahead with your uninstall.

1) What version of the Logitech gaming software do you have? Also you may want to take a look at the info at the links below:

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8137/related/1

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/...,3,2,5/cl/us,en

2) Are you playing Mig with the mapping via Logitech software or without. If with, try playing mig without the Logitech software.

3) There in the mig directory there should be a file called bdg.txt. Please open it with a text editor, copy and paste the contents of that file here.

Ok, check your inbox...
