At least most of the performers that is. ACC has cut the budget and if you're lucky you may see a F/A-22 perform next year...maybe. But there will be no Warthog, Viper, or Strike demonstrations next year. SAD! pitchafit

Quote:
We face significant fiscal constraints and are making tough decisions about the best ways to continue providing combat airpower to warfighting commanders, which is what we do as the Air Forces primary force provider.

Reducing the number of single-ship demonstration teams will allow us to reallocate more than 900 sorties to our wings so they can maximize their flying hours for combat readiness training, offsetting some of the reduction weve seen in flying hours. Most importantly, reallocating those sorties will provide an increase in more than 25 combat-ready fighter pilots thats a very good thing for our Nation and wise stewardship of our limited resources.

Right, that's it - I'm moving to a hot and sandy country next year otherwise I won't get to see them in action.

(Don't ban me - I'm kidding)

Its still not enough. Tunderbirds need to be cut down a bit too. The AF is starting to ask where we can cut cost. Its going to be bad for the next few or so years.

That's too bad - looks like I'll be doing less photography in the future...

Funny, I had the same thought... What a way to learn your camera just became near useless for airshows.

Believe me, the AF wastes tons of money in areas that have zero to do with planes.

While they are at it, get rid of Tops in Blue, Airman Magazine, staff cars for officers, Generals' aides, the Thunderbirds, and the USAF Band. Oh, and stop sponsoring NASCAR...

Or, they could cut stuff Airmen actually want/use/need; like reducing our educational budgets, medical/dental cutbacks, retirement benefits.

Aren't the ICBM nukes administered and maintained by the USAF? If yes then there can be some serious cost savings done by getting rid of most of them and just keeping about 150 or so.

another stab at the F-22.

F-16s, A-10s are all being deployed out, while the F-22 that was supposed to replace them remains home as an Airshow piece (when its not being a static on the ground display.)

Wow, if thats happening on your side of the pond then I guess we'll wave bye-bye to the Tornado role demo, Typhoon solo and the hawk display. Still, at least we're left with the Mighty King Air, Tucano and Tutor.. wink

Well, the navy could trim some fat.

After all, the scale of the US navy still reflects the needs for a navy reminiscent of the Cold War. And as we all know, the Cold War has been over for quite a while now.

Maybe no more flyovers during sporting events?

At least when they're used in movies they have to pay for the fuel and such used.

Maybe the owner/owners of the sports stadium or the league involved pay a fee for the fly over?
