I was wondering if there are any sims or mods that have working HMD systems likes the US JHMCS or the Israeli DASH?

Yes TAW has a HMD as does EF2000v2.0.. there was a video for the JHMCS in a F16 for F4 Open Falcon but they never released it frown

Oh shoot. I was hopeing that there was something available for F4AF or Janes FA-18. The later did provide the AIM-9x but no way to use it any differently than the 9m.

Do the Third Wire sims have any mods that support such features? It would be cool to have an usable Python 4 or 5.

I believe that F4AF supports the HMS on the AIM-9X as long as you uncage the missile and padlock your target.

Actually there's a way to do off bore-site shots with the AIM-9X in JF/A-18. It's been a long time since I set it up so I don't remember if you have to be padlocking the target for it to work or not. OK, doing a quick comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.flight-sim search you do need need to be padlocking the target for it to work. I mention it in this thread from the beginning of 2000. ( http://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys....75daada62?hl=en )

Unfortunately we didn't have time to do any "display" part for things though.

Thanks for the info. I just got a TrakIR 5 for Christmas and was hoping to be able to get an in game HMD or sighting system working with it, beyond the reticule in LOMAC that is.

DISH's F-18 had a good JHMCS. Full display at the top of your screen during dogfighting. Very helpful, too. The Imagic IF-16, iF-18 and iF-22 had JHMCS as well.

Janes FA-18 requires you to padlock and uncage for 9X off boresight. TAW, the latest F4AF patch, and Lock-On & Flaming Cliffs have free-moving HMD sighting available that can also be used with padlocking. The most accurate (with floating bracket and everything) is probably TAW, but Lockon:FCs is really great for the Russians. These two do not require uncaging. F4AF does. Enemy Engaged and Blackshark also sort of have it for helos, though it's limited somewhat in the latter due to its targeting & weapon capabilities. I created a little X-52 macro that autotargets for the gun in Blackshark using the EO system and padlocking. Not perfect, but it helps.
