Hooray, a nostalgia thread! \:D

That, and the LSO view. Watching replays of traps from the LSO position is lots of fun. I can't believe more sims don't have this feature.

Overall HK/PSF is alright if you're after some quick n' easy, cheap fun. It's no Jane's F/A-18 but it does the job.

Cheers,

Mr B

Well I'll be damn, Mr. B IS still around! How the heck are you, man?!

I miss our board. When Graphsim releases the next OIF patch I'll ask to have it reopened. \:\)

STARRON1, if you're referring to PSF, there's no patches. For OIF go here...
http://graphsim.com/support.html

For mods and docs, everything is on this thread... \:\)

I guess I have the wrong sim! Mine just says "F/A 18 Hornet 3.0". got it loaded, but does not look anything like the post!

Hey Mark, I'm good thanks, yourself?

I thought the HK/PSF/OIF board seemed to be missing from the forum list, I just assumed it was around somewhere. I don't think there's any other active boards out there for the series anymore.

Cheers,

Mr B

Yup, the OIF board was locked down into the archives. Sad day for me, and probably for fans of other boards that were terminated like Jane's WWII Fighters.

Don't know if you remember, but I was like the last regular poster on the OIF board, trying to keep it alive with long-winded rants and raves (that I'm sure were getting old for some, it was for me). I finally gave up (mostly on Graphsim) and moved on to other sims, short stop by USAF and then on to TAW, IIRC.

Sometimes I worry that the F-22 TAW board is also on life support, but I'm sure TAW which offers something totally unique to flight simming, will always have at least some activity. It's not another WWII or Hornet sim, it's THE F-22/ultra-modern sim with stealth game play, AWACS control, an incredible DC (some think it's flawed but we're working on that) and a HUGE map (nice having a/a refueling, OIF needed this too, eh?). No need to use a program for ambient comms like we were doing with PSF! \:\)

Not the most realistic sim (obviously) and with '90s graphics so any following will probably stay small, but it's still a unique experience (think MP's F-117A Stealth Fighter but with many more features and almost 800 pages of support documentation).

<Commercial over>

And you're right, there's no active HK boards out there that I know of.

Good hearing from you. Still playing Jane's F-15?
