Sure, if the graphics won't bother you because it is an older game, I reccomend it. However I would go with fighters anthology because it includeds all of the aircraft(i think a hundred or so?) from the games RFT mentioned as well as all of their maps and missions. Plus i've played that with no problems on winXP. I'm a Jane's man and those were good years when Jane's were making simulations frequently. However, I think USNF put out by EA was my first combat flight simulator.(btw, i have Jane's usnf97, does anyone know if this was the the same game??) Seeing how these were my first, there maybe a nostalgic factor as these brought a lot of joy. However, these games to me were and still are great fun to play. There maybe a little nostalgia for me but that aside, they still were great games with a great feel to them. Fighters Anthology is the way to go. Though no 3D acceleration, there's a great variety of things to do. From Dogfighting, ground attacks, B-1s and B-2 boming runs, to carrier operations with aircraft from a few different erras of jet aircraft! Also has a detailed mission editor. Well i'll be quiet now, you can see how much i love these Jane's game. Oh, as mentioned before, Jane's also gave GREAT manuals filled with game info as well as a great source in itself of the world's aircraft, flight maneuvers and info on the basic principles of flight. Okay I'm done.
