Those of you who have one but didn't have a way to program mouse keys, this feature is now standard.

Also if you've been getting the tough bumps with the wide TSH views, there's modes that smoothen it out. You can use the autopanning feature, or use plain mouse emulation with the precision mode if you need the boost. Works great, dogfighting is possible without the padlock.

I have never looked into it, I mean can anyone shortly explain what is TrackIR and how does it work? Where do you use it in a sim?

It replaces key usage for your view system. No more hat switch or snap views, in some games even padlock is'nt needed, all hands free with real time panning. Basically a specialized infared tracker that tracks a reflective source or a low volt IR bulb you place somewhere on your head, hat, headphones, or glasses. The site has a nice movie demonstrating it. I've had mine for over a year now, could never go back to pushing buttons for viewing. Most of my games I remove the key bindings for views and use them unshifted for other functions.

I sat in a military simulator once that used a head-tracking system. It was magnetic, not IR. And it was *smooth* - you couldn't tell any latency at all.

I don't know why civvie companies don't go after the magnetic angle...
