I fear I cannot get this thing to run at good frames if I'm stuck on my triple-head2go with only one card active.

Has there been any word on this?

Hi there CheeZmad, I don't know what triple-head2go means but I'm guessing from context that you have some tri-SLI NVIDIA system and multi GPU isn't working for you. You're not alone, multi GPU isn't supported in this game and most likely won't be until the devs have re-written the graphics engine with a promised 50%+ fps increase(Not multi gpu dependant) . I can't see them making any efforts in this direction until the GFX code is finalised.
On the other hand, if I've completely misunderstood your post then my hovercraft is full of eels.

edit: just read the thread title, my hovercraft is eel free.

edit2: being honest my post originally said tri-Crossfire ATI instead of NVIDIA which I didn't manage to edit before Ajay and JAMF made their comments.

Matrox TH2Go is a box that sits between the graphics card and the 3 screens. It fakes a single-monitor to the graphics card, making it believe it has a screen attached of 3840x1024 (if it's the digital version). Most likely he has an nVidia card, as it was more flexible in the resolutions it could transmit than ATI back then. Matrox was first with triple screen gaming.

I run two 5870s in Crossfire and I cannot get decent framerates either in Eyefinity...

Hi guys, thanks for clarifying smile. I guess I was just looking for confirmation of what I'd read through various sources about the current state of the game. Having been a long time IL-2/PF guy, I know just how good Oleg's sims are. I'm just dissapointed at the unfinished state this one is in. It seems that the community is very active though, so I'm sure he feels enough support to see it through.

Anyone know if there is going to be a more Pacific Fighters style career mode, instead of the scripted campaigns released with the game?

Thanks,
CheeZe

I'm waiting for true CF implementation as well. Thankfully there are other games to play in the meantime.

Any thoughts on that? Do you have SLI working?

This one didn't work for me, but has worked for others. Maybe I didn't set it up right. Personally I'm waiting for the re-write of the GFX engine before I start fiddling again because who knows what that might change!

Yep. What I found is that my SLI'd 2 x EVGA GTX 560 Ti cards are giving me essentially the same frame rates as a single 560 Ti card, but are working literally half as hard each with resulting lower temperatures. I'm not getting the micro stutters that tomshardware.com warns about for SLI cards, so I'm keeping them in SLI configuration.

This was a hot issue just prior to Rick Russki's excellent work on this. Another IC forum member actually inferred I was "telling lies" when I reported my mediocre success at attaining SLI mode in Cliffs of Dover. He backed down when I called him on it, and I even posted a video grab of the EVGA Precision monitoring utility readouts while running CoD to show both cards operating at 40% - 70% each and almost identically in sync. But he maintained that this "was not really SLI" because both cards should be close to 100% each. Whatever, I really had no interest discussing it further. This guy's big concern was that the 1C devs would stop work on optimizing SLI mode and not produce a COD-specific profile if guys like me were trumpeting that SLI works.

In my system's case, I believe my older CPU is the bottleneck towards supplying graphical data to the two video cards. Certainly a CoD SLI profile could only help in this case. Time will tell, I'm sure.

Absolute madness! Mine did the same with the usage side of things @ around 40% each, framerates went up around 30-40% but the stutter it introduced made it unplayable. Brings new meaning to 'your mileage may vary' Smile2
I have altered a few things since then with my SLI setup. Most notably since EVGA Precision introduced the voltage tweaker, I've been able to match the voltages on both cards as well as the clocks, so that I've been able to undo the underclock I had to apply for BF3 to run without crashes. Could be time to try again!

That's good info, Bokononist. I confess I know very little about this tech stuff. I bought the two video cards the same day locally; I was so impressed with the single 560 Ti (vs my previous GTX 285) that on impulse I bought a second exact same make (EVGA) & model. Then discovered I misplaced the SLI cable and no one sells 'em where I live! Arrrgh! LOL

Ajay tried to teleport one to me from Australia by holding it up to his webcam, but ultimately it was easier to simply order one off EBay (they're cheap). Luckily after plugging it in the Nvidia Performance Contol Panel recognized it right away; then it was a matter of doing the tweaks suggested by Rick Russki. It's far from perfect, but it's almost stutter-free -- maybe because the cards match up exactly. Keep us posted on how things progress with your card tweaking.

I have two 480s in SLI and whilst there is some framerate increase (about 10%) the result certainly doesn't scale up as it should. However, as mentioned above the load does seem to be distributed between both cards and temps are lower.

I actually get worse performance with the suggested tweaks at banana forums: no increase in fps beyond no profile SLI but stutters are introduced. Hopefully SLI is given some attention after the big graphics patch since it should be a relatively cheap way for someone with an older card to increase performance.

Ehhh...I dunno, the game is definitely GPU limited. I mean, I'm running a Core i7 @ 4.5ghz (when four cores are used) and @ 5.0ghz (when single core is used), and a single GeForce 560 Ti. Running eVGA Precision (they do make badass cards!) and Core Temp to monitor per-core CPU usage, I'm seeing:

- Overall CPU usage around 20%
- No single "physical" core (the 2600 is hyperthreaded) over 30% for more than a fraction of a second.
- 100% GPU usage, solid, all the way throughout

This in the 'Black Death' track, 1920x1200 resolution, all in-game settings maxed except AA disabled, using the external FXAA injector.

The game is very, very, VERY GPU-limited. Hardly touches the CPU at all. Properly running SLI would easily max out two 560 Tis.

Thanks for that input, Xander. What you're saying makes sense -- I frequently run Task Manager alongside EVGA Precision hoping to predict a launcher.exe crash by noting an excessive load on CPU usage (no luck on that, still get the crashes but CPU load didn't seem to go over 30%). Overall I'm happy with the performance of the two 560 Ti cards, but there's always room for improvement, especially over cities, in clouds, high numbers of aircraft, etc. it'd be great if a CoD-specific SLI profile addressed this!
