Excellent, those long load times really are a drag.

I guess loading times should matter when using an SSD right? I am going to get one and can't wait to see how RoF performns.

Careful, I've heard that there's not always a big improvement.

From what I understand they just help with loading times and don't do anything for performance. I've also heard they don't last very long.

Mods on was worth it even with the load times IMO . Now it's a no brainier.

Also I hope we see a surge of mod ideas and development.

Yes, make sure you do your homework and don't get stuck with an older generation SSD on sale. With SSD's you get what you pay for, look for MLC memory and TRIM support. I think Sandforce is the latest controller technology. I have a 120 GB OCZ Vertex 2 used only for gaming, OS boots under 15 sec, and files upload in a snap.

BUT no change in RoF start up time, beta mission loading, or performance
. I think most of this has to do with the RoF server connection, because PW's campaign missions load quickly, usually under 30 sec.

4x2.66 GHz Xeons, XFX 4870 1 GB, 11 GB DDR2 RAM, Win7 Pro x64, 120 GB OCZ Vertex2 (MLC, Sandforce)
26" VIZIO 1920x1200, Logitech FF 3D Pro, CH pedals, Track IR4

Good to hear. Waiting for 3 minutes for a mission to load (instead of 30 secs) was quite an annoyance. Hopefully, I'll be able to use the AI mod again.

I don't even think about how long the load-times are now because I can't imagine flying without mods on!

Yes SSD's don't seem to improve load times.
