No, not really mate, people can't have it all their own way, either there is a set of rules or their isn't.. You can't switch em around to suit yourself. (although we would all like too.. lol!)
With RoF there shouldn't be ANY need to steal other artists' work: You can pretty much set up exactly the angle and focal length you want and use that as a basis. your final result won't look a bit better than RoF does already, though!
