I watched one of my favorite films on TV again and noticed something I did not notice before.

In a scene where the Major is in the Sheriff's office after the first go round with Rambo in the woods I noticed a frame on the table behind him with The Silver Star, Purple Heart and one other decoration that I missed.

I read somewhere that Sheriff Teasle was supposed to be a Korean War vet and I must have missed any mention of it in the film.

That puts a new spin on the story as to why he was so against a fellow highly decorated combat vet.

Does anyone recommend reading the book?

The ending in the book was way different too.

I just ordered the book from Amazon, the sample pages make it seem like good reading with a different location and a different treatment of the principles.

I understand most of the book was from a different angle. In the novel Rambo apparently killed a large number of police and soldiers, while in the film there were only a few killed indirectly from Rambo's "nonleathal" actions.

If I recall, the closest the film Rambo came to directly killing a policeman in the film was shooting at Teasle through the roof in the closing scene.

It's been a while though.

I've never read the book but I did read an author's notes synopsis several years ago. In the synopsis he talks about how his attorney wrote the contracts so he never lost the rights to the Rambo character. He also talked about the book and the storyline but I don't want to go into that and spoil the book for Hank.

Is it true that True Blood is basically Twilight for adults? wink

Stalone stars as a pale sparkly vampire zombie, so yes! I think he also does MMA against a cloned Russian blonde steroid monkey. I think.
