I'm just trying to track down a DVD of this film, but can't find out what it is actually called. Any help appreciated, cheers, MP

Neil, I believe that's from a film called (oddly enough) "Thunderbolt", I have it on VHS although the start-up sequence is modern looking

I did a little more searching because I was sure I recognized it and I found it. It's called "A Fighter Pilots' Story"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1563542/

this is a clip from the film

The Movie "Thunderbolt" was narrated by Lloyd Bridges and has a Forward by (Gen) Jimmy Stewart

Hello KRT, thanks for the reply.

This is what was puzzling me because I have Thunderbolt but when looking through it, I never got to see the text where it introduces the 362nd but I knew I had seen this video before somewhere!

KRT, do you have this video and can you confirm the clip I linked to is in that DVD? It's strange but I remember watching one clip where P-47's were strafing an airfield and on the Bottom-Right of the frame (all in Colour) they must have hit an ammo dump and there is a huge explosion. It happens at 2m 04s in the clip I linked to, is that from "A Pilots' Story" too?

I would really like to track that footage down!

Cheers, MP

His name is Quentin Aanenson and it's a four hour long documentary that gets shown on the military channel and PBS from time to time. I searched for it but can't find a working link to an order for it.

If you're interested in the documentary "A Fighter Pilots Story," it used to be up on Youtube in 9 parts.... but was taken down unfortunately.

Here's a summary of the documentary that I did before it was taken down. A really amazing story. Check out his face in the picture where hes walking away from the flamer that almost killed him.
