Nice idea, you know how I love Johnny Cash. Posted this one on the AMI thread, Johnny doing a traditional, I Am A Pilgrim.
It was 1990, give or take, I don't remember When the news of revolution hit the air The girls hadn't even started taking down our posters When the boys started cutting off their hair
The radio stations all decided angst was finally old enough It ought to have a proper home Dead, fat, or rich, nobodys left to #%&*$# About the goings on in self destructive zones
Yes, I love him. He was so honest about his faith, failures, and struggles. Not only that, but he was a true blooded American and I'm amazed at how down to earth he lived in his later years.

I love him too. And as described above, his life was out there for all to see. All the ugly stuff and failures as well as his Christian faith and his love of Christ. I enjoy all his popular stuff as well. I really appreciate and am nurished by his spiritual music.
Gospel Roads is one of my favorites of his. The movie is fun to watch but just listening to the album is almost better. It lets you use your imagination.
I've always like "Flesh and Blood"
I love just hearing him recite too. This is one I listen to at night during Christmas time.
I've been a massive fan of "The Man In Black" for a long time. I liked the way he stayed down to earth even at the height of his fame. he always greeted an audience with a simple "hello I'm Johnny Cash" and always said he was just a gospel singer (which is what he started his career as).
Not sure about the video with the posing celebs, but this is one of my favourite tracks from his more recent work:
One of many things I love about Johnny Cash is the wide variety of artists who still cover his songs. In return, Johnny was known to cover the material of other artists..."Hurt" seems to be one of this community's favorites, and for good reason, it is undeniably great. One of my favorites featuring Johnny beautifully covering material that's not his own.

Another fine example of Johnny covering one of my favorite Dylan songs.

Johnny never hesitated, when given opportunity, to perform with other musicians. One of my favorites with Bob Dylan doing "You Are My Sunshine."

Here's another with Johnny and Joe Strummer doing one of my favorite Bob Marley songs.
