I just went for a campaign flight. I notice lots of improvement -- fx. autopilot now works correctly (it didn't in AF), great handling of the jet, nice cockpit, nice interface, GREAT sounds and graphics, flawless performance, so far no CTD, works with alt tabbing too. I also like the menus have the proper Falcon music and original videos.

Color me super impressed bottles

^^nice shots

I played with it for a little bit earlier today and it is definitely worth the price of admission. Graphically, mine doesn't quite look quite as impressive as the pics but I am still playing with settings (I have a Nividia GTS 450). Sim is smooth as silk with tons of improvements over the original. The sound is most impressive in and out of cockpit; interface is slick; options abound (a tweakers paradise). The terrain would definitely look better with the FLARE update, if it comes to pass. A lot of positives and stable on my end so far.

I will definitely play around with it between sessions of A10 and FSX.

Flare looks very good - Is it made for BMS? If so, it's gonna rock.

I think I just got a hard on.

Will this need the original Falcon install disk?

Ron, I flew the F/A-18 CV landing TE earlier today. Please keep in mind this is a very early impression with about 30 minutes of flight time, but I had sen you had asked and I was also curious.

1. The F/A-18 3D pit is unfinished. No working AoA, fuel flow, nor clickable cockpit.
2. No VASI/(can't remember what the meatball is called on the boat- too much rum) working on the carrier.
3. ILS comes on, but can't tell if it's accurate.
4. No LSO.

From what I could tell in a 15-minute test, this isn't what you're looking for at VNAO. You can shoot a visual to the boat, but the AoA is F-16, no carrot lights in the pit, and no clickable pit. I did see my wingman trap, recover, taxi on the boat; I don't think you care so much about AI performance though.

In some ways it's better than FF5, but it's far below Jane's F/A-18. I haven't tried VRS yet.

Sorry man. I was really hoping to see you guys transition to Falcon so I could join up.

How is the stability in multiplayer? Does it support more than 4-6 players without CTDs? Smooth close up formation flying?

correction: (left from right shift key)

And its not listed on the keymap, so a newer person wouldn't know and yes its an old joke.

Thanks for heads up to my misstype it was late night. How one should distinguish between troll trying old insider joke and real beginner smile Yes its missing in keychart. We will correct in next update. Nothing is perfect wink

Three of us just tried it out - not every day you get a major sim out of the blue - let alone with the Falcon DNA! It does look very good indeed.

We did have some issues, some that are probably just oversights:

--No response to ATG function, whether using the Panel or backspace. (Master Arm is on) ATA comes up and cycles with enter key, as normal. ATG loadout did show up on the jettison page.

--Hitting "M" for master mode blanked both MFDs. Left MFD recoverable hitting declutter (?) button. Not so on right MFD.

--No 2D pit, using the keyboard number key. 3D only. Checked in the Config for an option oversight, but didn't see anything.

--Kneepad didn't appear by default. There is a key press for it, but haven't tried that.

--With AA forced, loadout page is still corrupt. Can workaround it, and have not tried the software fix from another Falcon version yet.

-- Getting pinged by MiG 29 that shows on Threat Warning, but AWACS repeats "Nothings up right now" each time Nearest Threat is requested.

Looking forward to MP testing and to others' results and experiences.

Man this is cool! I love falcon 4 and tried FreeFalcon numerous times but it was too unstable to play, heartbreaking really which is odd to say about a sim. If this really is stable and allows for COOP campaigns this might be all I'll ever want in a sim! Can't wait to finish work and try it smile

The 2D pit has been removed, as with the myriad code changes it had become a nightmare to maintain, plus noone wanted to waste dev time on it as most ppl fly with TIR. You can use the guided snapviews ('2' key) which will make the 3D pit pan around like the 2D one if you don't use TIR.

There is no kneepad (it works in 2D pit only in Falcon).

Don't force AA from the GFX drivers, BMS has an option for it in the graphics setup menu in-game.

Blank MFD is ommision in docs. You need go to DTC in any mission (that last or very last icon on right in TE UI) and in MODES tab hit reset. It will loads up MFD config defaults for all modes. You can change it to your need. Sorry for that.

2D pit is unsupported. Period.

Edit: Fixed typos.
