Indeed. After what - five, six years in development, this is completely unacceptable. Just glad I didn't believe the hype and rushed out to buy it.

If I do get 1946 again, then that's pretty much every era covered for me:

WW1: Rise of Flight
WW2 (Battle of Britain) Battle of Britain II
WW2 (others) 1946
1950s - 1980s: Strike Fighters 2

Present: Falcon 4 AF. biggrin

Edit: Actually, since I've just seen 1946 for £2.97 + £1.93 p&p I might just grab it again anyway. smile Amazon.co.uk by the way. smile

Undercut by play.com: £4.50, so that's where I got it from. smile

Any problems with Track IR or Win 7 64bit that people know of? Hope I haven't been too hasty here. wink I know - it's only £5 - but you don't find that on the street - well, you don't usually: I did the other day. biggrin

COD is getting better and better - I finally pulled the trigger on it.
I sorely miss my Zeke, (lost count of how many Corsairs and Hellcats I killed online) but not looking back.
When I get my beloved Zeke back in the new series, it will be a happy day.

Go to the SAS site, and try 'Dark Blue World', it will transform your game.

The mods in DBW are so well-integrated, it doesn't put much strain on one's system. I'd say my fps improved with it. I run it on a Pentium 4, with a Geforce GTS 250, and it works fine for me.

I've had a look at DBW, it looks like what I'm looking for to wake up the single player experience. Especially in dynamic campaigns, it can feel a bit 'empty' - hopefully DBW will change that. I'm not expecting forty or fifty planes in a fight, but a few more than four a side would be nice. wink

Il-2 1946 still the preferred WWII coop combat sim for our club combat simmers on most Saturday fly-ins.

This UP 3.0 is the best produced mod of any flight sim i've ever seen, the ease of application and the content is stunning.

I disagree... I think that even of CoD had been fully functional, as long as the theater was as limited as it is many would have still flown IL2.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

I agree. Nothing except a fully fleshed out CLoD that has close to or as many theatres to play in will kill it off. IMO that is going to take years to accomplish just like it did with IL-2.

Been playing IL-2 and family members since the very begining*. After it came out - like many - I put EAW away. About 2 years ago I found myself playing less and less - but that was before UP3 came out - and I discovered the gang at SAS.

Plays like a dream for me on my new rig and, as I really like the Pacific theatre, the addition of many more US fleet carriers, US light carriers, IJN carriers and LSO/deck crewman really adds to the immersion.

* Anyone remember Oleg's weekly dev updates?

Those deck crewman look cool. smile

*I joined the party too late for Oleg's weekly updates at UBI but I do remember him having them at 1C for a while to promote Storm of War which became CLoD.
