Anyone else having drama's with the steam version all of a sudden?. I had it running fine yesterday but when I try and launch it I get a black screen with the aircraft in a cross logo, it then freezes and I have to ctrl-alt-del to stop the program in task manager. When I ran it yesterday all I changed was my controller inputs for my new joystick (HOTAS warthog). The only other thing that changed was a windows update last night (win 7 64bit).

It's running ok here DA, I also had that scary update last night (Win7 x64)

But I did notice that the black screen with the plane icon lasted a lot longer than last time, then everything worked ok

Graphics card drivers might need inspecting, and you can run the Check Game Files from Steam

I had this problem for awhile and nearly pulled my hair out. What fixed it for me was to go into the 1C folder in My Documents and rename the confi.ini file. Then, I also went into steam, and in the downloads and cloud tab under settings, unchecked the synch with cloud option. I read about it somewhere online and decided to try it out, and the game started up right after that. Give it a try and hopefully it works.

Thanks for the replies. I got it running now. What I did was go into the installation and ran all of the redist setup files. Must have been something with the windows update is my theory.
