Honestly I'd be happy if my flight leader would stop chasing two seaters at 20,000 feet right after take off. I've gotten to the point that I fly alone without the rest of the flight since the friendly AI either shoots you down, runs you over or runs off on a wild goose chase.
Don't get me wrong, the campaign is alot of fun, but if the was a little brighter it would certainly rank as a classic.

Almost anything is possible with time and money.

We would all like the AI's to be a little brighter than they are whether they be friend or enemy,m but as Buddywoof says it takes time and money. I do agree that the lone two seater flying over just after your flight has taken off is a nuisance.

Oh, so that's why sometimes the flight leader takes off and then flys for 15 or 20 km in the opposite direction of the waypoint?

I was wondering about that. I've just been following him wherever he goes, but that can lead to boringly long and uneventful missions.

And this should be very easy to fix. Just a few hours in the mission editor and I learned that you can adjust the level of interest that bots will take in other bots, and the boundaries for this interest. I'm sure that the next patch will look at the beta's weak points and fix this one at least.

There's one tactic the AI (awful idiot) use. They are great at flying into cloud. I've lost my flight several times because of this. Only way I've found to combat this ridiculous situation is to fly with icons.
