I wonder how well it would go down if we all went and contributed to frey's movie threads, as he says all are entitled to express their opinion! Don't you find it tiring having the forums clogged up with so many not so great movies?

Get the point Frey, everyone has an opinion and this new forum was opened up so that they could be expressed without creating the cluster of BS that we had for ourselves previously in the main forum!

In regards to the original topic at hand, I think Cliffs of Dover can become great with just a reasonable amount of additional polish.

The new sound engine and sound samples for example will have a very significant impact, and Maddox Games realises this. This is why update news has been slow, they want to make the next update feel like a significant improvement to the game not just a couple of bug fixes. It hopefully should finally enable the average person to actually experience some feeling of immersion as they fly the aircraft. Its no good having a cockpit look like the real thing when your mind is filled with sounds that clearly sound nothing like the real thing. Poor sound just serves as a constant reminder that its "just a game". Trust me when we have aircraft that have just as much personality to their sounds as they do their looks and feel you will experience an epiphany. smile

I have alot of faith in their hired sound engineer, he has proven that he has the experience and knowledge to create immersive sounds that replicate the real deal. Rise of Flight and its aircraft are proof of that. Just listen to the sound of the Bristol F2.B in this video, if you close your eyes you can not tell its coming from a game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyFuZuleVc4/watch?v=wyFuZuleVc4

Additional polish, this game has yet to receive any frown

really can't wait to hear the new sounds, I expect I will just be sitting in my 109 listening to the scream of the turbo from 109s flying overhead... At least that's what I hope.

That would be fantastic Krupi, or to here the burble of a 109 starting up next to you. However MG games have a terrible track record with sounds, Luthier reassured us before release that the sounds would be good and look what we got, I really really hope this time the guy from ROF puts them straight.

Are there any of the planes modeled that already have what we would call quality sounds, both internal and external?

Yes, I guess I should have caught on to it. It is all so obvious now. Your total fixation/hatred of this sim. Your insistent attempts to contact first Oleg and now Luthier. Even Oleg's evil little Easter Egg of disabling TREEs for online sound. Damn', it all falls into place now! Tree, YOU are obviously the Lost Son! biggrin

Frey, I do find you extremely selective in your reading. When a poster supports the sim you have a tendency to ignore the post, but the moment they are negative to any degree you start a tirade of hate and abuse, and assume they wish to see the sim's demise. In fact, many of these posters have gone out of their way to support the sim (even opting to send the team detailed information to help satisfy Oleg's perfectionism); So I really think you need to take a step back (like you planned to last week) and realise that people will always have differing opinions, and not necessarily agree with you. If people have such diverging opinions, then an interrogation into why they feel so isn't really necessary. I can't see why it's so difficult to just leave them be, as snide, argument-inducing comments like yours really don't create a nice atmosphere.

funny that this alternative venue is and has been pretty peaceable with very interesting discussions till you decided to show up in it.

If you don't like the opinions voiced here instead of demeaning the posters present because they don't hold to your personal agenda you are more then free to still use the other in your own words, more worthy section
