Oleg has gone, what comes next is questionable, Luthier is trying his best to steady a rocking ship but to me hes out of his depth. Some of the old IL2 team are still there but they seem to have lost their way, and had no clear direction for some years and COD shows it.
Some parts of COD seem to have been finished years ago and have skill and polish all over them, i.e the aircraft models, cockpits and ground models(Oleg?) while some parts seem to have been rushed, look shoddy and unfinished ie the landscape, sound and GUI(the new team?) I think if they make enough cash from COD then their next product will be better, but i dont hold out much hope for COD unless it gets a major overhaul from the ground up.

God, all these uninformed conjectures, doesn't it get tiring? You've been wearing those spectacles far too long.

Frey, that is the purpose of this forum! If you find it tiring it is just as easy to not read the thread.

The problem with the World is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

He has a point. It`s just as probable as some other stuff floating around.

Please, for everyone's sake dont ever become a MOD. Get used to it, everybody is allowed an opinion. My opinion is that uninformed guesswork accompanied by constant maligning of the developers is BS. What I did in my first posting in this thread was merely to ask if it wasn't tiring to keep posting uninformed conjectures? I seem to have really hit a sore spot since what I wrote could elicit such a defensive and ill-humoured response. Carry on with your time-wasting excercise but don't expect everybody to sit and clap their hands and think it is frightfully clever.

Is there an emoticon for surprised-but-not-really? Or another for the re-boot-that-never-was-in-certain-quarters? Dudes, you've got to laugh Ben

I think that Oleg did a runner because he found out somebody on this forum is his love child, I cant imagine who? Obviously this is pure speculation, and not an insult, in fact if true its a great honor.

Wasn't said love child bemoaning the "trolling" that was being done in the main forum. Now it appears they are trolling the extended discussions forum. Please allow me to quote from a great movie,
"We accept you, one of us. We accept you, one of us. Gooble Gobble. One of us."
Silent enim legēs inter arma.
Cave canem, te necet lingendo.
