I managed to get FRAPS working by ensuring Windows aero is on
'monitor aero desktop' is ticked on FRAPS general tab
This only works in the pseudo full screen option

(MOD EDIT: OT post this msg referred to now moved.)

This thread is about getting FRAPS to work, anything constructive and on topic to add?

Proof of the pudding is in the testing, aero's effect may be insignificant on a high powered machine and possibly affect performance on a low end machine. Still that's probably a discussion in another thread?

At work at the moment so cant check version, but I doubt it is the latest, probably is a year or so old.

If you are using Windows 7, you may want to install your Fraps into a directory that is not under Program Files.

There is a new "security" feature in Windows that will prevent executable running out of the Program Files directory from interacting with eachother, but it only affects executables being executed from under the Program Files path. If you notice problems running TeamSpeak and or TrackIR too, then this is probably the cause.

I've been in the habit of installing all of my games in C:\Games\, rather than the normal C:\Program Files\ directory, so I didn't even run into that set of problems until I was researching a different set of issues with TrackIR.

But that doesn't fit with any known conspiracy theory of them deliberately blocking it? How can it be true?
