I miss the days when Jane's dominated the Flight Sim genre. For Longbow to F15 to F18, I was in flight sim heaven. Add the fact that I was in my late teens/ early 20's with lots of time to spare close to zero responsibilities except taking care of my own selfish needs smile.

Hey I'm on a crappy Australian ADSL2+ connection that can only reach 300kb/s on a good day and it loaded up quickly for me. Not bad for a crumbling copper network. wink

I didn't use jpegs because of compression artefacts. Not everyone has these games so I wanted them to see what it would look like if they did.

Either way I did add "images inside" to the thread title before posting it as fair warning. I'm sure our European and American friends with their fibre-optic / cable connections didn't mind. smile

Again, just my opinion.

I can still hear the menu music in my head. Yes, that was the definite ticket.

Fair enough smile i am on a Virgin 3g broadband wireless and it loads as slow as a wet week , hoping to change to a cable connection soon, the Virgin wireless has been the worst net i have ever had,bar none.I cannot believe how crap our net is over here when compared to the rest of the world.Bah.

Hi Phazon,
thank you for your work, I agree with the most of your aspects, EXCEPT to your "BOMBEN ON ENGLAND"point. As a German and antifaschist even the wordless version of this Song is unbearable to me. So I switch it off. I have in my mind what others here and in other forums said about the waste of life during the wartime - for us it is a game, for the real pilots, often it was the pure horror (sometimes even for those who tookoff by singing that song, so as it was like for the father of my missus for ex.)Today I am so glad to life in a peacefull Europe with all my French and English Friends. One of them for example worked in the Dehaviland aircraftfactory, his wife got the occassion to fly in a Tigermoth at that time. But they also sufferd the raid on Coventry, also the V1&2s. How could I dare to show them this great Flightsimulation one day in the awareness that there is also a Song wo glorifies just that what has happend already in Guernica (yes, of course also in Dresden)- a massacre of innocent civil persons. Sorry, but there is simply a limit of "realism" to me.
I like it however , how we can come together here and just beeing friends (this song wants the opposite), I remember still the Mechano "Smudger"-Joe when I was in Duxford years ago, who fixed my broken aluminum luggage-careir of my travelbike - it is still working today, and he showed me a work-in-progress Bf-108; a virtual museum like in Rof, would me remind on that event, an ambiance I am also missing in CoD
cheers

That is an interesting point I have not heard someone bring up before, but a valid one. Another reason they could make a nice original war-like theme much like the ones in the Battle of Britain movies.
