Finally checking back in on this game and went to Steam here in the US to take a look at when THEY will release it....They are showing July 19, 2011 for the release date. That is an awful lot of push back from the original date a few months ago.

IF Oleg really did walk away from development over 18 months ago as others have quoted and stated then what the heck were they doing for the previous 5+ years? I understand that some people think that he is THE god of flight simulation development but what the heck man? From what I have seen it looks like they only truly started hashing out the game about 18 months before this release and all the stuff up until that time was proposals on paper and vaporware with some 3D screen shots and updates to the old IL-2 engine.

As for me I will keep lurking and checking in periodically to see if its worth the money for the download. By the way I still get pissed in the old IL-2 that you don't get credit for shooting up a plane when your AI squadron mates come in and blast it once to get the kill.

Patch is in progress, campaign , dynamic weather , multiplayer 2 weeks. be sure.

Looks like Heinkill is the latest casualty of the naysayers. This forum should have been moderated far better. I say that as a past moderator for several years over at Delphi's Harleys and More forum. We got some real nasty "individuals" (the most civilized way of describing them) that make the naysayers here look like the geek-trolls they are. We shut 'em down fast to avoid losing the valued members like this forum is doing.

I appreciate the difficulty to moderate this forum and wonder if they were hoping the conspiracy theorists would go away before members who were putting in an effort to enjoy this sim. Unfortunately this is not happening, though things did seem to settle down, perhaps not soon enough.
