I know where Frey is coming from (my last few posts probably prove that) but he has gone to extremes buts hes the balance to Nuggetx negativity he just needs to rein in his anger.

So, it seems people here are proud about how many times they were banned??
And i thought i've seen almost everything regarding forum behaviour.
Those bans were not without reason!
And this hugging and comradery in the last posts, for bringing up everything negative of CoD,
being proud about having been right a few times...
Don't lie to yourselves, you've been right about 40% of your doomsday projections, irc.
But then, it is always easier to find errors and faults then to appreciate what is already there, faulty or not.
I think that some people just have to lower everything to feel elevated.
As for the money one has spent, i've spent 39€ for a little brainfree fun with DukeNukem forever, it will last maybe 20 h max.
I've playes CoD for about 190 h and enjoyed around 140 h and didn't like about 5 h, that sim has already paid itself in fun for me.

I think the point I'm trying to make is if I have made the investment and have thoroughly gone over the install on my own machine that gives me more insight than someone who just tried it out on someone else's PC as I'm most familiar with my own rig, right? If I merely try it out on some other system that I can't change anything on and I base my judgement on what it can do, it may not accurately reflect my own possible performance. So therefore my opinion might not be the case for everyone. It has been pointed out that some people who haven't purchased the game yet, who seem to be very vocal about their opinions despite not having it installed. Yes they can have an opinion, but how much of that opinion is really warranted if they haven't lost anything by purchasing it yet want everyone to know how great their disappointment is? The point is taken, the horse is thoroughly beaten. Can we move on now?
I believe my specs are right in the middle of what is needed. I run the game pretty much balls out on purpose to create problems so I can track performance and it runs really well with very few actual show stoppers. I understand that there are some significant problems, but it will get better.

Right, I bought the game as soon as it became available, been waiting for it for years.. and like you I've extensively played it (or tried to), adjusted every kind of setting known to man, and I can tell you I agree with everything that Falstaff has said.
Now I'm 'qualified' in your eyes to say that, not only because for me it's a bag of Bollox.. but I also have an 'insight' into its performance through all the patches and have seen it go down the tubes.. and I'm not the only one.
For some people it's ok, but for many its not.. and like me many have decent systems and top end graphics cards to run it.. for me, 'frustration' is my main watch word when it comes to CoD.
I'm happy that some people can have a good time with the game, but lets not have a constant backblast at people who like me are throroughly hacked off with it at times, and seem not to be able to say that without the inevitable backlash..
Yet for some reason people who constantly sing its praises are never challenged?.. double standards at its best!
Oh, and lighten up all of you.. thats an order! ready

And Trooper that would, I'd think, qualify you to make a judgement based on personal empirical data, so now we have to determine what is actually causing your problem, I'm not blasting anyone by the way.
I tried the 3 GB switch from one of the other threads and that seemed to help some and there may be some other tweaks out there but like it's predecessor this title will undoubtedly have many performance tweak threads for years to come.

'' this title will undoubtedly have many performance tweak threads for years to come.''

I believe you are right! ..thumbsup but not so much about it's predecessor, which I also had from the start, and yes, I encountered problems with it, but once my system was capable of playing it after upgrading etc, it worked..
The same can't be said about CoD unfortunately, because many people have a system that is more than capable, and yet they still have major problems with the game frown

Yes, this is most curious but as with everything there are probably commonalities which should shed light on why this is so, I have a crap-load of games. Some despite my best efforts will no longer run where my friends have no problem on a similar or even slightly less capable rig, why I don't know but I usually try to figure out what the differences are RAM? Vid card? drivers? Something has to be the root problem, a conflict or even Windows itself. I will be happy to share whatever info I can to help but we actually have to come to a point where we work it out rather than beat it to death. I've done a re-install of this game and saved all my configs, even shut off and turned on Steam Cloud to see what it could change, I agree that it's a lot we shouldn't have to deal with but given time and I remember all the patching that was done in IL-2 that sometimes fixed and sometimes broke things we should (hope) to see something that will allay some of our considerable concern in the coming few weeks, maybe.

Yes but this title is ten times the monster IL2 was, and with that comes both good and bad, I hope the good will out weigh the bad in the not too far distant future

We've heard time and time again about conspiracy theories and incompentance on the part of the developers; I prefer to think that the developers had a vision that is so expansive they took on more than they bargained for. We simmers asked for the world and oneC tried to deliver, when they came up short, we simmers gnashed our teeth and demanded the world...again.

I suspect that if I added a top of the line video card with at least 2 GB of ram, My inconsistant frame reates, stuttery rubber

banding and slow texture loads expecially buildings in London would dramatically improve. That is if I added the card to my present

system. Sadly I cant affort 5 or 6 hundred dollars to do that. So i must soldier on with my HD4870 nope

my system: Intel Core I7 920 @ 3570ghz

Radeon HD 4870 w/ 1 Gb vram
