I was banned from the banana forum yesterday, had this message.

You have been banned for the following reason:
reposting profanity in a quote

Date the ban will be lifted: 07-02-2011, 09:00 PM

So I thought I should just mention this and stop anyone else falling into this trap. It's annoying that I got Alphas soap as I had been making sure that MY post were clean, anyway thought I would give you guys a heads up.

Check your quoted text before posting!!!!

Lol biggrin I'm not bragging it's one thing to be banned for profanity that's fair enough, but to be banned for someone else's profanity is rather amusing.

I just wanted to warn you guys nothing more nothing less, just a friendly bit of advice.

Old Alpha, he's a bit keen isn't he, Nearmiss is a much more reasonable chap.

Alpha unfortunately has a little hubris. I've never been banned from a forum, EVER! but I've been close at banana because of some ridiculous reasons. As Tree said, Nearmiss is a reasonable person. Alpha also tries to be witty with his "threats" of banning which only comes out as pathetic, considering it's a yellow coloured forum with a flight sim as topic, not the U.N Security Council.

I RARELY complain against moderators but my thread was actually about the game. I was curious to know how other people would think the game would do sales-wise. It's funny, how ones opinion of something is totally misunderstood by someone else...

P.S Plz lock the following thread as well, it's about some kind of DRM system, totally OT!

Obviously you have a problem reading and understanding whats posted on the forums, would you take some time off to think about your future posting at this forum ?

Wow! what a nice reply, insulting my intelligence. How diplomatic of you Alpha. Also:

Yes he's a real chuckle bunny is Alpha, he banned me for life but Nearmiss reinstated me the next day, I think its fair to say he doesn't like me too much.

I think it's fair to say that he doesn't like a whole lot of people.

Tbh I did pay him to get rid of Tree but nearmiss wouldn't accept my offer... wink

Alpha is not that bad, although a life ban is rather extreme

Well it must grind with a lot of people that Tree was right in a lot of his concerns before release, whilst most of us just believed the hype!

Still, hopefully you will behave yourself in future Krupi! wink

3 Month in the nick? Worst I had was one month (for daring to question one of Ilya's dodgy decisions, as I recall). Harsh, indeed. Here is a link to a particulary 'Profane' thread. I'll let you decide. We are all adults here.

PS I'll get you back Tree (lawl), though I'll let you off on this occasion cos it was funny (and true). biggrin Sheep molesting Derbyshire Bumpkin. Desist, or we will call the RSPCA. biggrin

Another link to philip.ed's Heroic effort to debate the 'Nature of Profanity' (he posts here too, and is a very good modder for my money). Of course, instantly locked, and silenced.

Krupi, don't worry about it mate. Think about being banned from that Stasi Totalitarian Humourless Forum as a badge of Honour. Mr Alpha probably knows that certain posts are just a laugh, but he is not allowed to laugh. They will silence him. Permanently. biggrin

You probably did the right thing. *Gives Krupi a 'Freedom Medal'* biggrin

Has anyone read Orwell's 1984? Illuminating.

We have always been at war with WoP.

Are any here familiar with 'Aesop's Fables' ?

We learned them at my (Free lance C.Of E.) Christian School. Myth or not, his Wisdom echoes throughout the ages.

All that was required was some honesty, and transparency. It remains to be seen if this oversight was Catastrophic, but I for one will not buy another single thing from these BS artists until this is fixed. A lot of good Faith has been lost. Ilya, you have much work to do.

Amen. biggrin
