These are very difficult things to translate! I don't know what they are in english but you might be able to tell if I translate the meaning.
Spitzgeschoss mit Kern: Pointy projectile with core Spitzgeschoss mit Kern, Hart: Pointy projectile with core, hard Spitzgeschoss mit Kern, Leuchtspur: Pointy projectile with core, tracer (weiss=white, gelb=yellow) Spitzgeschoss mit Kern Uebungsmuntion mit Zerleger: Pointy training projectile that disintigrates Phosphor mit Stahlkern: Phosphor with steel core Beobachtung: Observation - This is a very complex ammunition type, there was a long discussion about it somewhere on a german forum Panzerbrandgranate: Tank fire granade - I guess it means armor piercing incendiary round Brandsprenggranate - Tank explosion granade - Incendiary explosive round

Just found this on the banana furums:
S.m.K. - Regular German ammunition S.m.K.H - German armour-piercing ammunition L'spur - German tracer ammunition S.m.K..Ub.m.Zerl - German high-explosive ammunition P.m.K - German incendiary ammunition Beobachtung - German Observer ammunition Panzerbrandgranate - German AP-Incendiary shells Brandgranate - German Incendiary shells M-Geschoss - German HE shells
It's apparently in the CloD manual on page 58

And Wikipedia is your friend "B-Geschoß - (Beobachtung) ("observation") — The German Luftwaffe 10.85 grams (167.4 gr) B (Beobachtung—"observation") HE incendiary ball bullets contained phosphorus and "had a pellet in it which exploded on contact with any target, however frail".[13] The B ball bullet was like any other high-explosive or incendiary bullet, illegal for anti-personnel use according to the Hague Conventions. It featured a higher muzzle velocity than standard ammunition due to a more powerful smokeless powder charge. These rounds were designated as V-patronen, with 'V' being short for improved (German: verbessert). "The Germans maintained that it was used mainly for observation and range-finding, but observers report having seen them in rifle clips and machine gun belts".[13] The regular German infantry units were not allowed to use this round; however German snipers sometimes used this high velocity round to gain an extra 100 m (110 yards) effective range and cause horrendous wounds. The standard issue Karabiner 98k rifles handled these higher pressure cartridges without issues.[20] This cartridge can be recognised by the black circular cap groove, yellow bullet." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8x57mm_IS

Well done guys, good work, my girlfriend is German and she had trouble on how to translate to English. And I thought Steffi had become a popular name in Britain and German a widespread language Be glad that she couldn't translate it, those are some well weird bullet names!

Hi Flyboyz, the GermanAmmo-thing is even for a german too much, at least to me! But here is a link to a german forum which shows a very effective load-out for the 109. bf109 optimale Gurtung The first photo shows a white double-arrow with "zweites MG 17", if you put the smk-L'spur for the first gun to this position as it is shown there and for the 2nd on the 4th, then you get alternating tracers. Hope this helps, do you have any ideas fo effective bullet load-outs on Hurris & Spits for me? thx
