Oh Joy ...

Back to the drawing board to get this game playable again. I got it to disappear using hotfix 11.5b with the last patch, do I feel like spending another 8 hours trying to sort it out again or can I go back a version somehow?

The Brisfit is awesome-but, I have the stutters as well. I'm sure it'll get fixed quickly.

AMD 5970 Crossfire enabled. Time to go to "graphics" and do alittle tweakin'! biggrin

I turned off Crossfire and it works perfectly!

The Brisfit is the easiest plane to land there could possibly be-made two landings and didn't even realize I was on the ground!!!! SWEET!

Yes, handles nicely.. I made my approach at around 70 mph, eased her down for a fairies fart landing.. nice and smooth!
But note, its very easy to get prop strike when taking off.. lol! Be careful of that elevator input.. gently does it. biggrin

Heck, I can't get it to spin-the only way to get rotation is hold in the rudder and as soon as you center it, she stops spinning.

Why did they even bother with the B14-does it have greater payload, longer range, higher speed????

Requests? Variety? They were bored and had extra time on their hands? wink I think the first two are more likely though. smile

No, actually I'm thrilled with ROF and the planes they offer, I was speaking from a historical perspective. The Brisfit flies like a fighter plane for pete's sake!!! biggrin

I saw a video posted where it was carrying bombs - did it actually get used as a bomber ? I thought it was solely used as a heavy fighter ( but I know little to nothing about the Bristol ).
Cheers

Well, it sure carries a boat-load of bombs in ROF and STILL handles like a dream!!!

Took off with a load of bombs and 50% fuel and was chucking barrel-rolls at 300 feet-awesome!

Not stuttering at all, actually smooth a silk. It is a strobe effect that will induce a seizure if you try to play any longer than 30 seconds if you can run it that long.

Really annoying that I was able to get it to stop last patch using hotfix 11.5b now that does not work.

My question is how can I roll back to the last update without it screwing up my screen every time RoF wants to nickle and dime us with new crates?

Turned off multi gpu's no fixie. I will try the disable cat AI next.

Just to make sure I understand what you're seeing, I'll explain what I experienced in alittle more detail.

There were no visual anomolies but it appeared as if the screen would freeze for a 1/4 second and then continue on smoothly for about 3 seconds. There wasn't any break in the visual display, it just looked like it "froze" for a millisecond and then moved on smoothly.

Is that what you're experiencing?

Not what I am experiencing here. Game runs smoothe a silk with out any stuttering.

It is like someone is behind me with a flashbulb flashing three or more times a second. Sort of what like the prop should look like when the engine is running but instead of the prop blades flickering in view the screen strobes in your eyes. Cannot really explain it but it more of a strobe light than flichering. Totally unplayable now.

When I get back I will try and disable cat AI and see if that helps any. They should give us the option to go back to a previous patch until the bugs get sorted out so we are not left with either an evening or three debugging session or at worst an unplayable game.

Sorry if I sound frustrated but imagine you not being able to play the game every other patch, you might then understand the rant. If I could roll back that would solve this for me.

Maybe you should give the straight 11.6 drivers a try. I'm using them in Win 7 64 bit.

This strobing effect hapeens with me as well, I am using 2X HD6970s in Crossfire mode. I can eliminate the problem by setting HDR to off in the graphics tab.

I tried that switch in the graphics menu but it did not work. I think because I use a single card multi GPU the switch does not work.

The last update I needed to turn off cat AI to get the crossfire to disaable. Doing that gives me an FPS hit so I'll need to live with that if that is the case.

11.6 did not help with the last update but it cannot hurt to give it a go with this patch. We will see tonight if that corrects this.

Are you using RadeonPro by any chance? I use it but if I set the Csorrfire Profile to anything other than Driver Defautlt I get a serious screen strobing effect. If you are not using this then download it and setup an RoF.exe profile that can disable Crosffire for only Rise of Flight without having to do it though CCC.
