My God it is so hard to get decent information on the COD forums these days, there are pages of emotional and worthless BS to sift through. It's the same on the Banana forum; 5 pages of "Thank you or $*&#! you Luthier" to get through before you actually can find some decent feedback. What I want to know is can anyone confirm the MP sound bug actually occurs with a patched server and client (both running the same frigging version?) Instead we have people getting emotional and jumping to conclusions without stating facts and being scientific about their findings. I guess I'll just have to wait till home time to find out on my own.

So if you were a beta tester what is it about BETA patch that you don't understand?
Neither on the online shop page nor on the box is there anything about CoD being BETA product, thus implying I, as user, am betatesting this. Simple. I don't post here because of people like you Frey.

I wondered the same thing, I went on last night for a short time onto a server with only a couple of other players just to give the new patch a test run, in the brief time I was on( about ten minutes) the sound seemed to work fine. Whether that was because the server was up and running with the patch or not I couldn't tell, also I was only on for a short amount of time so it was difficult to draw any meaningful conclusions. As you say, its impossible to draw any meaningful conclusions without being a bit more scientific. p.s. @Biggles07 thanks for replying to your own "Patridge attacks the farmer" clip (hilarious) with the "Geordie Jumpers", very funny, I was thinking along the the lines of the "I'm sorry that was just a noise" Partridge clip myself (you know the one) but you saved me the trouble, cheers

So for me it seems the sound bug in MP is gone, although I only played for about 30 mins.

For Freycinet, the sound changes Luthier is referring to is nothing to do with the sound bug, the online sound was working fine until the hotfix, we just want the sound back. The sound that we will get in a few months time will be a replacement for the poor sounds we have at the moment but nothing to do with the mp sound bug. Hopefully the new sounds will enable you to hear aircraft flying overhead whilst your stationary and aircraft starting up next to you.

Not that anyone cares, but I dont think High altitude Fm has been fixed. I took a Spitfire Mk1a to 19000 feet. I will be generous and say i got 210mph IAS which is about 289 mph TAS, THis aircraft should be capable of at least 340 mph, specs say 362 . . Wingman commands are there but i dont know if the AI planes respond or not.. oil temp gets real hot real fast. Even with Rad wide open you have to watch the RPMs like a hawk.. Maybe its how it should be but its not my idea of fun. CEM seems overdone to me but I dont have the tech knowledge to say for sure. But if this is what is was like how in the world could a pilot dogfight with all that workload.. Ok enough .. I am heading for the fridge to get some cheese to go with this whine .
my system: Intel Core I7 920 @ 3570ghz Asus P6T MB 6 GB OCZ DDR3 RAM , dram freq 680 mhz, NB freq 2720 mhz Radeon HD 4870 w/ 1 Gb vram OS.. Windows 7 professional 64 bit WD 2 TB hard disk drive etc.

Oh yeh ,patch, did the patch sort you out Troop? Mine is still crashing , i had a new error message last night though, ran out of memory apparently..go figure. The standard one was Launcher.exe has failed to respond or somesuch. The patch has done jack sh*t for me.. not even with my new GTX 570 can I get the thing to run half decently.. Still getting lock ups, still getting that crap black ring that is out on the horizon, it won't even run on the lower settings that my old GTX 285 was on..?? Think I'm going to have to shelve it for a long time if the proper patch doesn't do something positive on Friday.. (sigh) At least I have RoF at the moment so I can get my aviation fix there.. lol! (the Biff is coming)

Tried online for about 30 min with the new patch. Sounds seem fine, could hear my engine and enemy fire as well. Cant say for the rest since there weren't any outside views available. Had a couple of freezes as soon as i pulled the trigger and thus made it impossible to get any hits. Realized after, that i put everything on max when i tried single player. That and 260 in ping might have something to do with it. PP and flaps on 109 works faster. For some odd reason i cannot use the fuel chock in the 109 when choosing single mission (the one in England where u start from the ground) with complex engine management checked. Thats however not only this patch. Been like that for a while now. Not a big thing one might think exept it makes it impossible to get of the ground, for obvious reasons

If not its certainly worth a pop, if you get stuck send me a pm and I will give you our TS address and talk you through some settings.

So they finally fixed the radio commands BUT they also stripped it down a ridiculous amount. No attack orders, no ground control, no rejoin etc. I know it's beta but is this supposed to be an improvement? I really hope that more is added in the final patch.
Also, it seems to me that they are rebuilding the whole game. New GUI's, new sound engine and so on. It really shows that this game should never have been released this year.

Aye, I did notice that they have stripped out a lot of the radio commands, not really an issue for me tho as still a grand total of NONE of them work for me anyway ClOD must have achieved some kind of award for software that works (or not), completely differently for every user. I know its a BETA patch so will wait and see on the retail version. As for the other tweaks, most of them seem to have worked out ok. (single player side anyway).

Thats what i cant figure out either, how its possible to get such huge variety from user to user.

Sorry to interrupt the breakfast bread debate but I have noticed another couple of things since using the latest patch
1) the flak seems to have disappeared, well the smoke anyway, just left with flashes of light...
2) all of the airfield clutter, vehicles etc have also disappeared (playing sp campaign)
I have not changed any of the settings since playing yesterday (pre-patch) and that were all there then...
Anyone else have the same thing?
