RoF will stress your PC like nothing else you have loaded on it. On my watercooled system RoF runs my gfx 10 degrees hotter than IL2 ever did. It could be that RoF has highlighted an issue rather than be the cause of it.

In all respect you are running probably the worst OS you could on the hardware you have. Vista 32 was not a good OS anyway, probably the worst since Window ME. Couple that to the 6 gig of ram you have installed and the 2 gig GFX memory on an OS limited to 4 gig total system memory.

If it was a software only issue there would be more reports of the error you are getting.

Have you checked your system temps and memory usage when running RoF vs when you run COD.

I feel for you Copterdrv, I've seen you on these boards since day one and I know how much you enjoy RoF.
I also know what it is like to have the sort of issues your are having. I had a nightmare a few years ago with an EVGA board and an 8800 ultra. If I ran the EVGA with a ATi 1800 it ran sweet. If I ran the 8800 ultra in my second box that would run sweet, I just couldn't get the two to play ball in the same box. Drove me mad it did.

I upgraded my memory and regardless of the Vista usage, the memory errors have decreased a good bit and I found that if I hit the Esc key when it shows up, the memory error message dissapears and the sim continues. I can live with that. What I hate is the occasional CTD near the end of a long mission with numerous victories!!!

Sim looks awesome as always-have everything cranked to max except for AA set to 4-the edges are all smooth at 4X so that's good enough for me. Runs smooth as glass showing 39% memory usage.

I've read about lots of folks having issues with Vista but honestly, I've NEVER had a single hardware or software hangup with it. When I tell my friend (the main IT guru at work) that, he just looks at me and says "right"-but it's true.

I've always run 32 bit, guess it's time to upgrade to W7-64. I'm alot more into PC hardware than software (built a couple dozen systems for my self and friends over the years) Can I expect any issues with the upgrade? Kinda silly having all that memory and not being able to use it....

Win 7 is a breeze to install, you shouldn't have any issues at all.
