I have had an X52 for some time and apart from it's 'idiosyncrasies' its fine. Build quality can vary but for IL2 its great.

Saitek built in an automatic 'setup' routine.... so if your stick glitches (possibly loses power) for a split second it re calibrates to wherever your stick is at that time (lights go out and on again).

You can, if convenient pull the plug on the interconnecting cable with hands off and it will re centre. It does cause the odd crash but hey...

Happened with the first 3 sticks which were replaced (this one I have still does it) on XP and win ultimate 64 bit.

Well cheers again foir all the input on this thread.

I have gone and ordered the Warthog (expensive but its my birthday soon and i explained to the wife that she really loved me and that she should buy me it!!happy_bday) and some Saitek pedals to go with them. They should all be arriving over the next few days (hopefully) so I'll post back then with an update with how they worked.

Cheers

Wayne

Congratulations on both birthday and your purchase.
Happy hunting.

Thanks Vengeanze,

Well, Warthog arrived, plug and play, no problems at all. I have installed the TARGET software but to be honest I have not needed to use it, ROF, COD, DCS Blackshark and A10 all working without a hitch.

Saitek pedals, (got them cheap from e-bay to keep the wife's fury to a tolerable roar) no problems either.

All in all I would have no hesitation in recomending the Warthog (even with the hefty price tag).

Cheers.

Wayne
