Has anyone managed to get this working with DCS A10? I've built a controller out of an old keyboard, but I can't seem to get the programming to be recognized.

You can't assign the key just like a keyboard?

Like button #1 would be the letter A or something like that?

I'm using the keyboard chip as the windows interface, the buttons show up as letters and numbers in the foxy keytest.

It works properly (sends the macros) in Wordpad/Foxy Keytest ...etc. In A-10 it's completely ignored. *shrug*

Does Windows see it as a keyboard, or some other HID controller?
Is it the only keyboard installed?

What programming are you referring to? How are you creating macros?
(A keyboard shouldn't require programming and doesn't natively do macros. nope )
If you're using another program to create macros, then which one?

Does the sim want to see simultaneous keypresses? (e.g. you want to turn on the radar and Ctrl+Alt+W = radar on)
Or cummulative keypresses? (e.g. you want your wingman to form on your wing and Tab brings up Comm menu, then 1 calls your wingman, and then 4 tells him to form up)
If it's the latter, then maybe you need to add some pauses to the script, as it may be executing too quickly?

I've got 2 keyboards installed. HIDMacros is the program I'm using. It sees 2 keyboards (Kbd1 and Kbd2). K2 is the controller I've built. I've programmed HIDmacros to fire a macro for the in-game UFC (A-10C) when I use K2. It works fine in Foxy's Keytest. The macros show up perfectly. The problem is that DCS doesn't see the fired macro. It only sees the (original) keystroke coming from the keyboard controller.

Put another way: Kbd2 types q, HIDmacros intercepts q and converts it to Ctrl+Shf+q (simultaneous), DCS only sees q.

There is some dicussion on other boards about adding delays for the modifiers, but nothing has come of it yet.

Well from experience I took apart a Contour Shuttle Pro 2 controller to make a custom switch panel. This device is normally used for audio/video editing and if I remember correct was a HID device. I had similar problems getting the buttons to show up in DCS. Lucky for me the device did have its own version of something like SST or Foxy so I programmed all the buttons as keyboard strokes and from their was able to program into DCS.

It seems like you're trying to do the opposite though if I have this right.
