Here at SimHQ.

Me, when I first really started posting, it was mostly in the LOMAC Forum, and to be honest, I was a smart ass. I liked to push people a little, probably more than I should have. At the same time, I did a good bit of creative writing, and if I do say so, it was good stuff. Every once in a blue moon, I'll go back in the archives and re-read what I did, and I still get a chuckle. Ego, I know.

I used to push people with my "flashing beacon" bits and stories. Mailman, for one, got really sick and tired of that stuff, but of course, that did not deter me.

Today, I think, hope, that I'm a little more refined. I don't try to prod anybody, and I try to keep my posts short and readable.

How about you?

I think way back when my posts were probably distributed more evenly....there were lots of Jane's based titles...falcon in its prime etc...

Nowadays I don't have much time for Sims..

So my posts are mostly in community halll

When I first started posting, I relied mostly on the sinker. But these days, I tend to default to a good curve, if I don't go with the heat.

I also think my posts have become less nihilistic and more existentialist.

Cheers!

It seems I'm still posting the same rubbish in the same way since 2002...

The only "sim" I've played in the past 3 or 4 years is Joint Ops, and it doesn't have a dedicated forum or much of a presence in other forums. So for that reason most of my posting is in CH as well, with forays into EMDOWIHYPP, Books, and Outer Space.

When I started my style was younger...now eleven years later, for some reason it is older...a real mystery...

That is strange Hank. I have no explanation, but I do enjoy your posts.

Looking back on my 10 years on SimHQ I really don't see any discernable change in my posting style. I've always just been "me".

Started out in the EAW and Red Baron forums. My first posts were always of a technical nature or about how I was able to improve the sim. I then opened up a bit and started to post a few screenies or after action reports. It's only recently that I've ventured in to the community hall and, god forbid, the current events forum. I'm a diplomatic person by nature (when sober) but every now and then I'll put on the devil's advocate gloves or just speak from the heart with my posts.

I tend to be a little crazy sometimes also, I think I got a few threads closed and locked in the lock on forums. with 39,000 post, you lived on these forums! I haven't posted that much, but I do think I slowed down some.

I joined and started posting in the IL-2 forum to answer questions about IL-2 1946. Within a three weeks I was already posting in Community Hall wheras I thought, until I checked my posting history, that it was a few months before I migrated into CH. As far as posting style I think it's been the same since I joined. I try to be pleasant and helpful with a bit of mischievousness thrown in once in a while to keep things fun. Now my posting frequency might have increased a little bit. biggrin

I thought you used to be a little bit of country but now you're a little bit more of rock n roll?

I've always been the same. Not literally every day, but "on average" a post I made 10 years ago will differ little from one I make now. Of course, back then you could read every new post in every forum in about 30 minutes. smile

I don't know that I have any particular "style" either. Frankly, if I stumble across a post I made in the past, even as recently as a month, I tend not to recognize it as mine until I see the name!

As for WCE, I can't stand "wingers" so I don't go there. A "winger" is anyone who thinks 95% of "their side" is right and 95% of the "other side" is wrong, even when it's the same thing! So a politician accused of having an affair is "a corrupt douche" if he's on the "other" party but a "good guy with a moment of weakness" in their own. Of course, then I get accused of "sitting on the fence" as if the only options are to be on one side or the other! I hate those people because those of us in the center don't fit into their perfect little black and white view of the cosmos, so it's easier to dismiss me as a "fence sitter." That implies I haven't made up my mind, but that's wrong. I have. I've decided they're BOTH wrong.

I got here like several others - through EAW.

I guess I do more humorous posting in Community Hall now.

That's not what I said. I don't have a sense of humor. I just get some friends to come-up with humorous things for me to post. I just type.
