There are some old pics of the SBR floating around the forum here... It looks a little different now, but it is basically the same. I will see if I can find them.

Although now it is sporting a Noveske Pig, EoTech HWS, Daniel Defense Rail Mount Sling Adapter, and a few other internal "improvements".

Soon, a Flat Dark Earth G.23 FTS will be on the top rail as well.

I wonder if Savage still makes an over/under shotgun/rifle? Maybe a .22mag on top and a 20 gauge underneath. Might be a good survival gun.

But I trust OG's judgment on anything about firearms, so I'd go with the M-16.

I agree with the shotgun.. I'd take my Remington Marine Magnum.. For obvious reasons..

I haven't tried shooting slugs through it yet. I'd be interested to see how accurate it is at 100 yards or so... ar15

I'm not sure how accurate a 12 gauge slug would be at 100 yards. My guess is that's stretching its limitations. 50 yards is more like it IMO.

Here's the ACR wearing just the Magpul flip sights. I've got another rail attachment to hang a tac light from, and am in the process of selecting some targeting optics for it. I lovingly refer to her as the "Bush Broom." She's pictured here with my XDM-45 and my KY toothpick. This loadout follows the mobility reasoning that OG outlined earlier. I've got a much lighter SOG Tsunami knife; but if the world's ended, I'm carrying the toothpick for it's size and the for the fact it was designed by my friend Gil Hibben.

Loadout number two features my 5" SA Service 1911-A1 and my SA M1A/M14, again pictured with the KY toothpick. The M14 is wearing its standard iron sights, I'm in the process of adding a custom 3 point optics mount (recommended by OG), which will probably hold either a Leupold or a Zeiss product. I lovingly refer to my M14 as "Old Brown Bess."

There's more but that's enough for now. Between my tac and hunting firearms, I aim to be able to outfit 6 to 8 people with a rifle & handgun combo. There's lots of folks on my Apocalypse list, all for their various useful skills and to help carry away my firearms and ammo horde. Many of the folks on the list have their own weapons, but some don't, so I figure we'll probably be able to arm nearly everyone on the list.

Bring on the zombies. crew

If the zombies attack I'll have to do a quick spray paint job with some black Rustoleum..but maybe the nickel plating will still keep it from rusting underneath... wink

have an EXPS3 on mine, but no magnifier. How are those? Worth the money? Swing out mount?

Truth be told, I could afford a real magnifier, so I bought a chinese knock off for under 50$. It works. I had to make a few modifications, but if it failed I'd just flip it out of the way or rip it off. The Eotech is a real 552 series (uses AA batteries) and I have a midwest industries BUIS on it as well (co-witnessed).

I have not gotten a gas piston system yet. Kind of intimidated. What is the cleaning/maint. like?

Its not as dirty as some of my other guns, but I rather suspect that's because of the ammo being cleaner. The whole system comes apart very easily, and cleans up easily. The spring gets quite dirty but a little solvent and a quick wipe and it comes clean. Takes me about 20 mins to do a pretty thorough clean of it.

Speaking of cleaning, I recommend wearing eye protection while you are using spray solvent. I went to apply some a couple of weeks ago, the spray can had the little straw on it and everything. the solvent hit a lip on the part I was spraying and came back and hit me in the eye. I suffered no permanent damage and didn't need to go to the hospital, but it hurt like a motherf*%ker!

This picture is outdated:

The Krinker 22 now has a different chassis on it, the SKS has been replaced with a far superior CZ-858, and I replaced the Benelli nova with a Benelli supersport. I plan on getting another pump shotty in the future. I also have a savage 17HMR TRR and another customized Ruger 10/22.

The word "Martyr" is just a fancy name for "crappy fighter".

Depends on the shotgun, some smoothbores will keep up with a lot of rifles out to at least 100 yards, while others can barely even maintain a duty handgun level of accuracy at 25 yards. It takes a lot of practice to shoot tight with the usual bead sight beyond 50 yards though.
