Arrgh, I spent about an hour re-assigning keys, all for nothing I came back and started the game and it's all default again. Frak!

Funny, didn't change my key assignments.

First time I noticed this, but the shadow cast when flying under clouds affects cockpit lighting.
Cool effect.

Sounds like you have steam saving to cloud, you need to go into steam and the game properties and untick save to cloud, as this will overwrite your personal settings if left on.

No changes from the beta.

Average FPS of 16 over London with lots of stuttering. Average of 20 with the Free Flight Mission over England. Again, lots of stutters.

My settings are almost all at medium. Lowering resolution to 1680x1050 did help somewhat. Buildings and terrain popping everywhere.

(sigh) What a mess.

Specs listed below.

Pretty certain you need a bigger vid card, I put in a ATI 5830 1Gb card and run everything on high and get mid 50's (offline)

I lost all sound after the patch. Anybody else had this happen? Sound works fine in every other game I tried.

Hotfix downloaded via steam.

The FPS jumped up, but the STUTTERING is killing me.

Now it gets even worse since the hotfix. Still no sound and every single player mission starts out with me seeing a piece of my wing sticking out of the channel. I don't even get a chance to crash the stinkin plane myself. I had a pretty good time playing it last night even with no sound, it was pretty smooth and I was able to finally map my controls in the GUI for the first time. Now everything is gone to hell. It's still smooth, but all I can do is watch the AI have all the fun. banghead

I confess that I have no idea what may cause that, but I suggest to delete your personal "1cSoftclub" folder in your User/MY Documents/ Folder. After that, restart the game.

Hope this helps.

Michael.

so does that mean the "wing sticking out of the water" problem is fixed now ?
That would be a progress.

Have you double checked the obvious things in the Audio menu ?

Michael.

Dang, I can't believe I forgot that. It did fix the problem of my plane crashing before I could get in it. I've tried several different things like adjusting sound in game, switching to on board sound from soundcard, etc. One thing this patch did do for me is that now I can finally use the buttons and trigger on my joystick and rudder. Before only joystick axes or throttle would work, but not at the same time. It is still pretty intense to play even without the sound. Kinda like looking at old gun cam footage.

Phoenix1963 posted the following fix in the 1c forum, give it a try:

Quote:
I'll repeat what I posted above, as all do not seem to have seen it:

I've found two switches in Windows: Sounds -> Playback -> [device] -> Properties -> Advanced -> Exclusive Mode
UNCHECK this.
I've tried many servers, sounds are all on.

It got the sound in the GUI back and tested the settings too. Once in game nothing but silence though. I'm still fiddling with settings. Having a blast flying though.

I had this problem flying online and seem to have solved it by going to Control Panel > Sounds > Manage Audio devices > [R-click device] > Properties > Advanced >
and switching "default format" from 24-bit to 16-bit, 48000hz.
