I have assigned 2 throttle (CH Pro Throttle) buttons for Carby Heat On and Carby Heat Off but they have no effect. When flying in cloud the carby just keeps icing up no matter how many time I pump or hold down the assigned button nor do I get a blue message saying carby heat on.
I have tried several keyboard functios but keep getting the "can't use this" beep.
Will someone who has found any working inputs for carby heat please tell me what they are using?

I don't think so. Have you tried the "HUD" on, I mean those lever thingys down on the right. Methinks that in planes with Carb heat modeled you get a lever symbol for it - at least this is true for the Blenheim. So, no symbol, no carb heater I'd say.

Michael.

Thanks for the responses gents.

Obviously another omission (to be added later???) in the sim and one that is a definite requirement if flying through clouds.

Tim, many other guys have carb heat working like a charm. I myself haven't flown those planes. Check out Jimbo's vids.

Yeah, but only on the Blenheim and the Br 20.

The supercharged engines (all other planes but the Tigermoth, think) did not need one.
Most likely the effect of flying through a cloud is overdone or simply modeled wrong for the supercharged engines.

Michael.

i guess he is asking if the carb heating is working on other planes than the Blenheim and Br.20.......i would say no wink
Carb heating is even essential to start the engines of these two bombers.

Ho hum ... yeah. I may add in my defense that the thing in the Blenheim isn't really like a carb heater (it is even labelled differently, like Air intake shutter or something) and that it is unusual to apply carb heat for engine start (but apparently hitorically correct for the mercury).

Michael.
