I wanted to recommend a movie. This is probably one of the most intense movies I have seen. I thought Samuel L. Jackson deserved an adcademy award for his performance. The movie scared me, not in a horror movie kind of way, but in a human kind of way. I didn't think anyone was wrong and they were all doing what they had to do. I guess that's why it scared me so much.

Gonna have to check this one out. Looks pretty intense, and Samuel L is a cool guy, too
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

I read somewhere that a theatrical release is being worked on.

Eh, I find 24 to be cartoonish. Unthinkable was kinda scary, seemed much more real to me...

Project MKULTRA, or MK-ULTRA, was the code name for a covert, illegal CIA human research program, run by the Office of Scientific Intelligence. This official U.S. government program began in the early 1950s, continuing at least through the late 1960s, and it used U.S. and Canadian citizens as its test subjects. The published evidence indicates that Project MKULTRA involved the surreptitious use of many types of drugs, as well as other methods, to manipulate individual mental states and to alter brain function.
This is an intriguing psychological movie and recommended to all spook and/or conspiracy theory fans. It was at Sundance 2009 and you can find the complete film on YouTube. Here is a preview:
Just watched Unthinkable. Really liked it. Not your typical run of the mill movie, and it makes you think a bit.

Ridley and Russell is a great duo which seldom goes wrong. Gladiator, American Gangster and Body of Lies are all great. Robin Hood was quite good too until the very end.

True! You may say the same thing with De Niro and Scorsese (Cape Fear, Casino, GoodFellas, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, King of Comedy).

Or Toshiro Mifune and Akira Kurosawa! Seven Samurai, Throne of Blood, Yojimbo, Rashomon, Sanjuro, Red Beard, High & Low, etc.

In that position I think I would be more on Helen's side. I don't want to spoil anything but when she says no to the "unthinkable" I gotta agree.

I am assuming you are talking about when they brought his kids in. I sat there thinking, OMG they won't do that, they can't. Then I thought about it and there were millions of lives at stake. It brought up the moral question of - If killing one inncoent child would save millions, could you do it? As for myself, I don't know. I really don't.
The part that really surprised me was when they were holding the gun to his wifes head.
Glad you liked it.

That is the part I mean, the kids. How can anyone do that? It's the great moral dilemma for sure and it's part of what makes the film so great.
It's easy to say oh I could/couldn't do it but I really think I would not have the stomach for it. 5-10 million deaths of people that I can't see or the torture and death of 2 innocent children in front of me. Totally unthinkable is right!!!
Not a decision I have to make, thank god!
Thx for the recommend Destructis
