Hi all,

last weekend I mothballed my old X-52 stick and installed a brand new shiny Logitech G940. Since then I'm having problems with trim in Black Shark.
It is my understanding that with a Force Feedback stick, pressing the trim button should leave the stick in the position where it is at that moment. However, when pressing the trim button the chopper will make a wild movement - as if the joystick position was suddenly reset to the physical center position.
I've changed the "ForceFeedBackEnabled" to "TRUE" (was that in FMOptions.lua?) - and put a small sticker on the sensor of the stick. What else do I need to do?

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

I've taped up the IR centering sensor on the right hand side of the joystick and that made all the difference in the world in regards to trimming in BS and A10C

With my MS FFB2 I had to disable the 'stick centring' option in the controller set-up menu, otherwise I had the same symptoms as you.
Can't remember exactly where it was or what it was called smile but it's obvious when you see it.
Cheers,
Keith

Thanks for thinking with me!

Ghostrider, I've also taped it off... doesn't seem to make a difference. KeithB77, yes, found it... but this too didn't seem to have an impact on behaviour.
TagTaken2, I've done this, but clicking one (e.g. x-axis) also activates (or deactivates) the other axis. I guess they both must be 'on'?

Okay, think you just have to click reverse on one axis, and that sorted it out for me. Any luck?

Make sure you do not have any axis adjustments in Black Shark for the Joystick axis (settings under axis tune). Otherwise, BS transforms joystick input, but does not transform the ffb trim effect accordingly. Thus the stick will be held in the wrong position.

If I remember correctly, axis settings in the profiler will not cause this problem.
