Here's the result of yesterday's work: Same angle, but with me sitting in the middle in order to give you an idea of the size: Hopefully we'll be able to start on the new screen & "spider" support framework for it next weekend. g.

Thanks Boandlgramer. This isn't a one man show though - my friend Wayne has been a huge help in this whole project. He's a real, honest to god Aerospace Engineer that has a very firm grasp of the math involved. Without that understanding, this project would have died a quick death. My setup is actually the "prototype" display system. We're going to build one just like it to go into Wayne's home office. We're getting the bugs worked out of the design so that we can easily duplicate it quickly at his house. When it's all done, we'll build a set of sub-assemblies at my house and then truck it over to Wayne's house for final assembly. This will go a long way to keeping the disturbance down for his wife and (very!) new baby. (He was working on 3 hours of sleep yesterday. I'm glad he didn't run a screw through his hand - I'd much rather play chicken with a train than have to explain to his wife how I let him hurt himself. ) I don't want to send him home with any extra holes or missing body parts, otherwise he can't come over to play any more. *laughs* g.

Look at the size of that thing .

When you do finally build a Death Star and it gets blown up, you will build a second more powerful one will you?
Amazing work!

Now I understand what that contraption you're building is! Great stuff as usual Gene!

Hmmm... and what is the final product supposed to be like? Lots and lots of monitors, or LCD projections?
Either way, nice work, looking forward to updates!

You and me both. I got the "blades" for the screen cut yesterday evening. I'm hoping to cut the support arms for the screen tonight. g.
